24.01.2022 Guess who is one of several who are delivering a presentation on regional arts? ;)

22.01.2022 Hello out there! Hope everyone is well. 2020 has been a bit of a whirlwind huh? Lots of things have changed, and one of those is the full acknowledgment of the medical necessity for me to no longer throw myself at the ground for entertainment. ... I've been talking about my Ehlers Danlos and associated chronic pain for a while now, and my stubbornness to continue dancing and acro-basing... But it's time to honestly face the facts. I just can't risk a major dislocation, because once it happens, it'll keep happening. You know? As it is, I experience frequent subluxations (partial dislocations, and have for a number of years) so my risk is growing every day that I choose push myself past my limits. So, coming soon will be some new endeavours I have been working on! Ways to share my stories and reflections about being human that don't involve such a risk to my health and safety - even though that's part of the allure of certain types of physical performance, sure. These will mostly be written pieces, user interface designs, experience designs, the like; mostly focussed on digital or tabletop games but also some things to generally inspire and excite. I've been building a streaming setup with some of my savings, so you will have more of my face and laugh to access soon! If you like something about what I have been doing with my artistic soul in the last decade or so, then I hope you continue to to find something to enjoy as I shift gears and find ways to survive and thrive in a fast paced world not at all made for people like me Thanks for liking my stuff and keeping my heart full. I hope you find something to smile about today Ever loving, Matty

21.01.2022 So lucky to be one of the artists in this development! Come along and see some wonderful work by regional artists facilitated by an incredible company.

20.01.2022 Tonight I get to run Partner Acro for Couples as part of a Valentine's treat with Elemental Aerial, Fitness and Recovery Studio, how good is that!? If you missed booking a spot this week, it's running again next week so don't stress if you haven't asked someone special to come along and hold your hand. $25 per person, or $40 for a couple.... Bookings through Elemental, just follow that link I put up there You don't have to be romantic partners either, any human relationship benefits from increased trust, mutual support, and open communication. #love #trust #support #communication

20.01.2022 Phew! What a ride 2018 has been! Pretty much peaked last night when I performed at an art gallery for an exhibition opening with Junkyard Circus. That's been a dream of mine since I was about 15 years old. The crew was awesome, the venue was awesome, the art was awesome, and it was just so awesome to be involved so thanks to Bathurst Regional Art Gallery for the awesome opportunity! ... Head over to Junkyard's Facebook page and Instagram to see details of their upcoming gigs and workshops. In other news my life is about to take a massive leap into some uncharted territory. Big things in store for 2019. I'll do more regular updates here so y'all can keep up! Big reveal coming in January Thanks for your love and support, I do what I do because of you.

20.01.2022 I will be running a play based ensemble building workshop with Rebekah Kordas at this year's Mullumbimby Circus Festival! Big Love

19.01.2022 Are you curious about what makes these workshops a little bit different? Juggling offers us the opportunity for an intentional practise in managing anxiety as well as having a number of benefits for our nervous system and brain function. Group Acro offers us the opportunity to explore trust, boundaries, communication, and team work by learning how to safely stack our bodies on top of each other.... These workshops are offered for beginners and intermediates looking to reconnect with some basics with a twist, in a fun and supportive environment. Why not come along for the four weeks and give yourself a chance to discover something about being human?

14.01.2022 Final leg of the "Snap Shorts" 2015 tour! I'll be in Dubbo next week performing as a hungry Magpie fighting over some roadkill and a tech-savvy young bloke at odds with his mech-savvy father. Featuring 9 short plays in total, the tour has been well received by audiences in Bathurst and Mudgee over the last month. Each piece has been written, directed, and performed by Bathurst, Mudgee, and Dubbo creatives. Produced by the phenomenal Local Stages team at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre. Tickets on sale now, get in quick because they're bound to go fast!

13.01.2022 The next project I'm working on is for Melbourne Fringe Festival! The link here didn't turn out quite the way I was hoping So I'll do a proper good-looking post a bit later

13.01.2022 Thanks Friends! I've just reached 300 likes on this page, so to commemorate I thought I'd share a link to a puppet show from a few years back! 'Killing Time' by Jodi Cramond, was produced as a part of the Central West Short Play Festival Touring Production, SnapShorts in 2015. ... I directed this version! I also performed because our Magpie handler had other commitments arise, but not to worry! The foundations laid down by Timmo Mannering in puppet workshops with Alesha Elbourne and Stefan Elbourne gave rise to the cute little dude you see me handling here. Alesha and Stefan made the puppets and performed in the debut of this production alongside Georgia Wohlfiel. This clip also features the incredible talents of some fantastic people including Fiona Grune, Jessica McKenzie, and Alexander Woodhouse! Give them some love! My eternal gratitude to all the staff at BMEC and also to the amazing Becky Russellll & Brendan Napier from productionART

12.01.2022 Got plans this Saturday? Grab yourself a ticket to Cabaret Kite and enjoy some local talent doing what they do best. The legendary Rusty Nails is back to host another Cabaret and celebrate 10 years of showcasing local acts, local artists, and way-loco fun. See you there!

11.01.2022 Tune in to 2BS from 4pm this afternoon to hear me briefly discuss a candlelight vigil in memory of the victims of the recent shooting in Orlando and it's relevance to the Bathurst community.

09.01.2022 In my line of work I have the rather humbling opportunity to work with talented young people. I teach and learn every day and am able to create theatricalised moments of incredible humanity. Being in a community means working together to share a load, support one another, raise each other up, and bring a smile to the face of another. There is so much joy in my work, and I am honored to be able to share my passion and inspire others.

08.01.2022 If you find yourself in quarantine and getting bored, hit me up for some FaceTime or Skype and I can tell you a story or teach you how to make and use juggling balls. If you've got kids I could wear my clown costume (don't worry I don't wear makeup or a curly hair wig) and do a little show or tell a story to help out if that stuff works for your family. We could play games or have a chat, anything to break the monotony and alleviate some of that stir crazy we get from being... locked inside. You don't have to pay me for this, but if you have some spare cash to help me get groceries that would be rad. Stay safe. Keep calm. Wash your hands. Support an artist. Let an artist support you.

06.01.2022 How's this for a throw back?! Featuring all these amazing people! Rebekah Kordas Tom Matthews Elliee Nunn Will Tredinnick Alexander Woodhouse... Keep an eye out for the big beard, that's me ;)

04.01.2022 So earlier this year a little group got together and called themselves Junkyard Circus and we are doing a fire performance at the Bathurst Show tonight! We'll be up there tomorrow as well for a lunch time circus variety act, so if you miss us tonight come along tomorrow and have some fun with us!

04.01.2022 Today is the day before I celebrate being born. And there's a lot to celebrate! I have been honoured to serve my communities and learn about culture and engagement under the tutelage of some incredible artists, activists and academics. This year marks a huge transition for me as I step out in the big wide world and give city living a go! This bumpkin is loving Melbourne, and I've already found some great mentors to pester, friends to share feelings and adventures with, an...d opportunities to explore! Thanks for being a part of this journey, and I hope I can continue to reflect humanness and perspective for you to enjoy - through my stories and adventures in this world - for a long, long time. Peace and love (and remember to vote!) See more

01.01.2022 Come on down to this free event and you might catch me teaching some juggling skills! I'll be there from 5pm. :)
