21.01.2022 This week the Victorian State Premier, Dan Andrews, announced that Open for Inspections and Auctions are allowed again but with sensible rules to keep everyone safe. Open for Inspections A maximum of 10 members of the public will be allowed to enter a property at the one time. If there are more people who want to inspect the home, they will be asked to wait outside (observing social distancing) until other people leave the property. We will be taking the contact details of e...very attendee and will not allow anyone to enter a property without this information. Before entering a property, people will be asked to sanitise their hands and advised not to touch any surfaces in the home. We will also be asking attendees to confirm that they do not have any symptoms of COVID-19. Inside the home, people will be asked to maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres from each other as well as observing the rule that there should be no more than one person per 4 square metres. This may mean that if someone is inspecting a bedroom or bathroom, you will need to wait until they leave the room to enter it. Auctions Ideally, auctions will be conducted outside on the premises - either in the front or back garden. A maximum of 10 members of the public are allowed to attend the auction. If there are more than 10 people then the Barry Plant auctioneer will be asking that only those who want to bid to remain. If there are more than 10 potential bidders then we will help the additional people bid from a distance either using an online auction platform or by being on the phone to one of our agents. All people attending the auction will be asked to stay a minimum of 1.5 metres from other people. At Barry Plant we are very serious about ensuring that our staff, our clients and the community are kept as safe as possible. We believe the processes we have implemented around our open homes and auctions will provide a safe environment for people who are looking to buy or sell a home. See more

13.01.2022 According to the Home Value Index released by CoreLogic late last week, Australian housing values have not demonstrated a material decline in April, despite a drop in market activity and a weakening in consumer sentiment. Nationally, the 0.3% increase in values in April was the smallest month on month movement since June last year, when the national index was down 0.2%.
