Five sprinters and a skinny climber. With less than a kilometre to go, I took the opportunity to catch the others off guard and rode solo to the finish... I'm pretty stoked to take this win." 24.01.2022 U19 State Champs 2020 90km in a group of only 11 riders was bound to make for a tough day. On a hilly circuit too, it didn't take long for the legs to really start to hurt. The race began with a fair bit of pace up the climbs as the stronger climbers tried to whittle down the size of the group. After the first lap of rolling hills, the group was down to 8. On the second lap, the group went into damage control and few attacks were made as the pace was held just high enough to ...make it difficult to do so. Coming into the final km, I had good legs but knew I didn't have a chance at winning the race in the sprint, so I supported my teammate Oli in taking the win. Overall, the race was a success with a Veris Racing athlete on the top step of the podium. 22.01.2022 This is pretty much how my Tom Lowry Memorial went on Saturday. 75km in the break with these two hitters, Guy Kalma and Pat Saccani-Williams was enough to render me pretty spent. With another short breakaway of 6 shortly after our stint off the front, I was well and truely spent by the 95km mark and found myself riding the final 30km home alone. 20.01.2022 My new machine for 2020 and beyond. Like usual I had planned to post this after my first race on it, but I dont quite see that happening anytime soon! Finally making our way to the iconic Watopia; we're racing on the Jungle Circuit coming in at 37.4km and consisting of 4 loops 8km in length... all on dirt! Rolling through the lap banner at the loops lowest elevation, then ride a gradual climb (~3%) to cross the dizzying heights of the rope bridge. Soon enough zipping downhill to the bottom of the valley for another lap. The entire circuit is di...rt, and while this was only a visual change when the Jungle was first released, Zwift modified the rolling resistance of dirt in October 2019. 10.01.2022 Very tough race at @peeldistrictcc Pinjarra criterium today but coming away with success nonetheless. With a small field in the fast winds, there was no way to avoid putting in the hard yards. @calum_mcyclist and I rode a tactical race, ensuring we applied pressure at the pointy end of things the whole way through. We were able to form breaks and bridge gaps - just as we planned.... I was fortunate enough to pull off a well timed attack towards the closing minutes of the race, holding on for a solo win by around 10 seconds. I’m super pleased to see my form finally showing in some local racing - better late than never!!
