25.01.2022 A highlight of my career was the opportunity to tour with Billy Connolly fo for 53 nights around Australia back in 1999. I was in my dressing room and Billy ca...me in and said how are you, I’m Billy Connolly. It was just such a thrill. And from then on, I was part of the music family. Billy and I would jam music together before I went out on stage first every night, after the show Billy invited me back to the dressing room and we would all talk and share stories and play more music. It was a big buzz at the very end of the tour on the final night Billy gave me this Banjo that had been his companion for 20 years. #TBT Throw Back Thursday See more

18.01.2022 In memory of Julian Bream Bream has been my greatest hero and influence for guitar. For me Bream had the greatest soul and passion for guitar.... Breams Journeys and discovery of Ancient Lute and Vihuela music through to modern Contemporary music are eternal for guitar. I particularly loved his albums of Albeniz and Granados. Pure poetry.

17.01.2022 Hey you there! Listen up! Today is the first day of spring for you, but not for me and my friends. My mum told me that wildlife started spring activities early ...this year, like weaving nests, preparing hollows, sweeping burrows, laying eggs, giving birth, and pouch nursing marsupials like me. We need you to take extra care on the roads to avoid hurting our parents, stop and check pouches if you do see a marsupial on the road, keep your pets away from us so we can learn how to grow up big and strong and if you see us in need of help please call Wildlife Victoria on 03 8400 7300 or go to their website to log a webcase and find out more information. Thank you so much for looking out for us. (I am a Ringtail possum joey ) Southern Animal Health

13.01.2022 The first official performance of Voyages, A community Music project I have directed, was on March 13, 2003 for the Shepparton Festival with the Goulburn Valley... Orchestra which I posted in my flashback last Thursday if you want to scroll down the feed to check it out. From the success of that project Voyages was commissioned by Arts Victoria, Regional Arts Victoria and VicHealth in 2004 with a budget of over $450,000 and I directed Community Concerts in Regional and outer metropolitan centres including Hamilton, Portland, Colac, Robinvale, Swan Hill, Frankston, Upper Yarra Valley and the City of Yarra with over 1,000 musicians participating. Then in 2004-2011 Voyages was commissioned by the Victorian Government for a Showcase Concert at Federation Square for the Australia Day Concert with over 300 musicians, dancers, acrobats performing to a capacity crowd of over 20,000 and broadcast on national media. The video footage below is of a Federation Square concert in 2004. I was music director and led the Voyages band which included performing original Celtic Music. #FlashbackFriday

05.01.2022 CREATIVE COMFORT: CREATIVE DEATH 'Dwell not on what frustrates, but on what potential lies ahead. Worry not on what was maybe considered a failure, but what bou...ntiful opportunity lies ahead.' Steve Parish To feel deeply, to explore new creative expressions, sometimes we must unshackle ourselves from self-imposed restraints. Stepping outside of our comfort zones and taking financial, physical, emotional, creative and time investment risks are essential for giving flight to our creative soul. This might require making small, or even significant, life changes. My most memorable creative adventure began after we lost everything in the 2011 Brisbane floods. That single event snapped me out of a 30-year life-pattern and led to a heightened artistic vision beyond what I could have ever imagined. If I had remained in a state of 'poor me' I would have retained the intense anxiety I was experiencing, and over time my passion would have faded.
