20.01.2022 $6 MILLION UPGRADE FOR CASINO MEATWORKS It is the biggest private employer in our region. They employ anywhere up to 1,000 people. Today a $1.5 million Federal ...Government grant was signed off to help build a state-of-the-art 'retail ready' processing room. NCMC will also contribute $4.78 million towards this project. This upgrade will allow them to package their own brand so it is commercially ready. The products will include popular beef & veal cuts like rib fillet, sirloin & wagyu. Customers will start seeing these products in retailers, big and small, over the next 12 months. The company aim to be running at full capacity by next October. The facility upgrade will create an extra 40 jobs for the community. The product diversification will also create greater job security for existing staff. New roles will mean staff will get the opportunity for more training and upskilling also. Great to have the Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack MP here today following the final approval of funding. Northern Cooperative Meat Company

This could include getting enough sleep each night, reducing our alcohol intake, or taking the time to regularly chat with a trusted friend. I'm inviting you to regularly check in on your mental fitness over the next month. Keep your eyes peeled this month for ten individual challenges - how many will you commit to? A huge shout out to all the incredible staff and volunteers in our mental health workforce, some of whom we'll be featuring right here over the next four weeks. #mentalfitness #tunein @mentalhealthnsw

14.01.2022 Yesterday, our inaugural Regional Youth Taskforce members came together for the final time in Dubbo. I am beyond proud of everything this group of incredible yo...ung leaders have achieved in the last year, and I can't wait to follow their stories as they go on to achieve even bigger and better things in their lives. It's sad to be saying farewell to these amazing young people, but I am delighted that we will soon be welcoming a new bunch! If you or someone you know would like to be a part of the 2020-21 Regional Youth Taskforce, visit nsw.gov.au/regionalyouthtaskforce - hurry though, applications close Sunday October 18!

14.01.2022 A great privilege to represent Minister Paul Toole MP at yesterday’s official opening of the new Tabulam Bridge. This incredible $48 million piece of infrastru...cture - funded under the Bridges for the Bush program - connects the Northern Rivers to New England. It was fitting to have a range of dignitaries at the event including Agriculture Minister and Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall and former Nationals Member for Lismore Thomas George - both of whom advocated so hard for this new bridge. Was also great to honour the old bridge built in 1903 with a final community walk and a lot of discussion about how to preserve and respect the original bridge’s heritage.

02.01.2022 Spectacular morning to raise the flags for the 2020/21 Far North Coast Surf Life Saving season at Cudgen Headland SLSC. Our surf life savers do such an incredi...ble job keeping our beaches safe and it was a privilege to be able to thank some of them in person at today’s official ceremony. It was also awesome to catch up with this year’s Patrol Captain of the Year and all round Byron legend Beau Monks. Stay safe in the water everyone.
