24.01.2022 This morning Jessica Shaw MLA, Member for Swan Hills and I co-hosted a visit by Hon Fran Logan MLA Minister for Emergency Services to a gathering of our volunteer services personnel from across the Electorates of Kalamunda and Swan Hills. Volunteers from our Bush Fire Brigades, Fire and Emergency Rescue and State Emergency Services gathered at Mundaring Emergency Services Centre for an informal discussion with the two of us and the Minister, followed by lunch. It was a great opportunity to thank all of our volunteers for their unstinting dedication to protecting our lives and property.
24.01.2022 The McGowan Labor Government is delivering on our commitment to establish two 'one-stop hubs' to make it easier for victims of family and domestic violence to access services. These one-stop hubs will provide a specialist service for women and families experiencing family and domestic violence. They will bring support services together and wrap them around those who need them using a 'one-stop' approach. This model, which is new to WA, will make it easier for women and children impacted by family and domestic violence to get help sooner in a safe space within their own community.
22.01.2022 Thank you Premier for your visit to the Electorate of Kalamunda. Our communities across the Hills thank you for the McGowan government’s work in keeping WA safe and strong.

20.01.2022 I was thrilled to be invited by Colin James the Station extension project coordinator to attend the opening of the Darlington Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Station extension held this morning 14th November. The opening was undertaken by Commissioner Darrin Klemm AFSM. Congratulations to the brigade and all those members of the Darlungton community who contributed time, materials and expertise and who undertook fundraising to bring this project to fruition. Particular congratulations to Colin who this morning received his 40 years long-service medal from Commissioner Klemm. Here I am pictured with Geoff Barker who has been central to the development of the nearby and completed Darlington Pavilion Project. Darlington Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade
20.01.2022 Today, after hotfooting it back from Kalamunda RSL’s Remembrance Day service at the War Memorial, I was able to meet the Year 6 leadership group from Walliston Primary School. After a quick tour of Parliament House and an explanation of the work and function of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council it was off to lunch accompanied by the Hon Samantha Rowe MLC who helped host the group. 18.01.2022 Thank you to all of our Bush Fire Brigade, Emergency Services and Fire and Rescue volunteers.
17.01.2022 At the Kalamunda Night Market this evening. Great opportunity to chat with constituents about what the McGowan Labor government has achieved in the Electorate over the last three and a half years.
17.01.2022 I am privileged to be part of the McGowan Labor Government team that has launched the Path to Safety: Western Australia’s strategy to reduce family and domestic violence 2020-2030, a long-term vision for a Western Australia where all people live free from family and domestic violence. It sets out a clear whole-of-government and community plan for reducing and responding to family and domestic violence over the next decade. This is part of a comprehensive packages of reforms and initiatives delivered by the State Government to increase the safety of woman and children.
16.01.2022 It was fabulous to have Premier Mark McGowan visit the Electorate yesterday. We paid a visit to our funky Cafe Mojo in Mundaring where the Premier chatted with customers followed by lunch. Then we headed over to the Mundaring Village shops to talk with shoppers and small business owners. Cafe Mojo Mundaring Mundaring Chamber Of Commerce
14.01.2022 On Tuesday evening it was my great pleasure to host Anil, Jenny and Max from Hovea Residents Association on their visit to Parliament House. We had discussions on a range of issues including the protection of the Hills environment from inappropriate development, tourism opportunities, the need to advance progress of the construction of the Orange Route, the need for improvements to public transport across the Hills communities and the rates burden faced by residents in local authorities on the peri-urban fringe. It was a stimulating discussion that took place over dinner in the Parliament’s dining room.

13.01.2022 Each Remembrance Day, we come together as a community to reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who gave their lives to defend our freedoms. We observe one minute’s silence on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month each year to honour those who lived and died during WWI and in other wars and conflicts involving Australia’s armed services. I encourage people across our Hills communities to show their respect for those who have served in the Australian Defence Forces by observing one minute’s silence this morning. Lest we forget.
13.01.2022 Out and about in Mundaring today with a number of supporters visiting constituents. Fantastic feedback regarding the performance of the McGowan Labor Government team. It’s a privilege to be part of it.
12.01.2022 The McGowan Labor Government is serious about stopping family and domestic violence. That’s why we changed the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 to better meet the needs of tenants experiencing family and domestic violence. Victims can now choose to stay or leave their tenancies and if desired, make their rental homes safer with timely access to lock changes and other security upgrades. It’s practical changes like these that help survivors of family and domestic violence to feel safer and more supported.
12.01.2022 Our local schools are the lifeblood of our community, often serving as more than just a place of learning. That’s why the McGowan Government is making it easier for our schools in the Electorate of Kalamunda to open their facilities as community hubs. This is great news for our Hills communities with exciting possibilities. The change will deliver more green open space for local residents, and as well as greater meeting options for local community and sporting organisations.... 09.01.2022 Out this morning at the intersection of Gooseberry Hill Road and Kalamunda Road engaging with early morning commuters with a bit of a pre-Christmas theme. Lots positive feedback.
06.01.2022 Violence against women in all its forms is unacceptable. The annual 16 Days in WA Stop Violence Against Women campaign beings today, and I’m inviting the community in the Electorate of Kalamunda to take a part in this major effort to stop violence against women. Join the 16 Days in WA movement and think about how you can educate, motivate and advocate in your community, and stand up to stop violence against women. ...
