25.01.2022 I have been so busy this week I haven't had time to put anything up about the ABT BARRA OPEN at Awoonga Dam last week.I finally found 5 minutes to put something... up. I had a blast, the result should of been alot better but sometimes shit just happens.We had a great prefish found some great areas that were holding good fish so we were pretty confident going in to the first day. Well let's just say things didn't exactly go to plan. Didn't even make it to the starting line and we had boat troubles. Boat back on the trailer and in Gladstone we go.The guys at Ship to Sail in Gladstone did a fantastic job on get us back on the water at all.Well after missing nearly all of the first day I think we did alright not to loose it, pack up and go home but trust me I thought about it. At the end of the comp we end up in 10 place which is still great, but what it could of been. Some things that never let me down are my Garmin Livescope and the things we see, still blows my mind but too busy Barra fishing to film any of it. My Dobyns Rods also never let me down and never will. Great to see two young fellas in the tinny take out the win Liam and James and to all the guys who did well, congratulations. To Dave Nelson my team mate thanks I had a great time and if Tom Griffiths drops out you are definitely in.To all the guys I camped with and everyone who did the comp thanks for the laughs I needed it. Finally to the crew from ABT and Track my fish Stephen Morgan, Nicole and Stefan Sawynok with out you there is no Comp and there is no fun SO THANKYOU!! Team Garmin Marine will be back!! See more

Tristan fished Bass Comps in South Africa but had never caught a Australian Bass or Yella haven't even seen one in real life. So I stoked that Tristan and Michele smak the shit out of them. 18.01.2022 Not the way we wanted to start the ABT Barra Tour.We missed the first 6 hours and only got on the water just before 8.00pm and had to be back before 10pm. Mana...ged to landed 1 Barra but dropped 4 sittingin13th . Hopefully we can get a real crack and them today. 16.01.2022 After being away on charters for the last 10 days, last night I took the opportunity to go fishing for myself. Kris has bought a new Garmin Force trolling motor from me .He's a bird man and wanted to see Livescope for himself and I think the result speaks for themselves. Kris got his PB at 115cm . We caught a 115,116 and a 111cm and dropped 4 fish just as big. The 111cm was one of the heaviest Barra I think I have ever caught. I'm a big guy and Kris had to help me lift it that's never happened before. 03.01.2022 I don't normally do big write ups but this one was special. Cody Ryan loves fishing but never had the opportunity to catch much, a turtle in the creek or a bream of the pier down the coast. The only boat he had been on was a ferry. But he just loves it. So this was going to be an eye opener for him. The trip started at Awoonga Dam Monday afternoon, he wanted to learn how to cast a baitcast which didn't take long he got really good at it . He caught his first Barra within th...e first hour and did the whole thing by himself he was so excited he called his mum straight away to tell her what happened. He hooked 4 more Barra that night a couple real big ones but just couldn't land them, well that's Barra fishing. Tuesday morning, off to Monduran Dam it was hot and so was the fishing. On the water around 11.30am straight to the first stop and they were biting. Cory had 5 hookups but soon realised that the Barra in the timber don't play fair and unfortunately lost all of them a couple liked the lures so much they took them the look on his face was priceless. The next spot was a bit more open, he landed 2 with only 1 bust off. So at the end of the day, my job is to make dreams come true and for this young man, his dream was realised. #makingdreams See more
