16.01.2022 ANNERLEY JUNCTION SPEED LIMIT TO DROP BREAKING: The Ipswich Road speed limit at Annerley Junction will drop to 50km/h in coming weeks after years and years of c...ampaigning by parents, Junction Park State School, local residents and traders and local Crs Nicole Johnson and Steve Griffiths. The Council will confirm today that after the submission to Council of an independent review by the state Department of Transport and Main Roads, the City Council will agree to a lower 50 km/h speed limit through Annerley Junction to increase road safety for all road users. A huge thank you to everyone who has advocated for this over many years - your efforts to protect our kids, our senior citizens, local residents with disabilities and visual impairments to get across the street safely have finally paid dividends. There have had been too many fatalities and crashes. My thanks to the Council for finally agreeing to the drop in speed limit and our state TMR department for their work on the independent review and working with Council.

(Note the phone number JW1622) We are so excited to have this hand painted sign in our collection and want to thank Ange and Kate for kindly returning it to us. Our long history in our community means so much to us. We gave it to Trevor at the Christmas party and we’ll be putting it up on the new office wall after some preservation.
