25.01.2022 I'm exhibiting at @igapgallery on the 14th of December! I'm pretty happy given some of the other photographers that'll be hanging on the wall alongside my work (although it'll make me look like the hack that I am). They're currently running a poll on their Facebook page for people's choice. I'm not going to tell you to vote for my photos, just go check it out and like the ones that you think should win. Link will be in my bio This is a new shot from two weeks ago; despite it ...being spring there were so many leaves all over the ground. Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f/4

25.01.2022 Sydney Opera House bringing the goods during Vivid. Thanks to @janbreckwoldt_photography for the window to shoot out of at @shangrilasydney Check out the link in my bio for my next vivid photowalk with @georgescameras Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with a @canonaustralia 400mm f2.8 + 1.4x

24.01.2022 Highlights from Supanova 2019 - Sydney Saturday Gany.jpg and myself will be back at it tomorrow (under cover due to weather), so send us a message to find out where we're shooting. Thanks to Georges Cameras for the studio equipment

24.01.2022 We're back at Sydney Supanova today! Same spot at yesterday (https://maps.app.goo.gl/yUjchxc71pA8zVvz5) so make sure you drop by to get a photo

23.01.2022 Kirribilli fire I recently bought a new bit of @siruiaustralia tripod kit: the HA-77. If you've been watching my stories you've seen it in action - it's so much easier to my camera right where I need it now I have a horizonal arm. No more issues with fences or annoyance with reversing the centre riser Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f/4, plus the @nisifiltersaustralia CPL and natural night filters

23.01.2022 Swipe to see the full photo (trust me, it's worth it) I've recently started to shoot a lot more panoramas, both 2:1 and 3:1. I've especially liked the 2:1 aspect ratio in portrait for astrophotography. There's just something about the taller shot that works really well this time of year. Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50s with a 23mm f/4. Tracked with a @skywatcheraustralia Star Adventurer

22.01.2022 I'm hosting a casual meet up next month. Tickets are free, but limited spaces available

22.01.2022 Had the pleasure of photographing the finals of the 2019 Grants for Impact100 Sydney North

21.01.2022 I don't need much of an excuse to head up the mountains and go hunting waterfalls. Last month @fujifilmx_au and @georgescameras had me run an astrophotography workshop up at Lincoln's Rock, so of course I took the opportunity to explore. Still heaps of interesting compositions on the trail, so I'll definitely be back next year. I'm also trying a more in depth editing process; I know I don't post a heap of photos at the best of times, and this won't help in the slightest. But I think the results are a lot better, and at the end of the day I'd rather upload one good photo rather than 10 average. Shot on the Fuji GFX 50S with the 23mm f/4

21.01.2022 Some of the friendly Fairy Wrens down in Homebush

20.01.2022 Huge shootout to @georgescameras and @streetflicker for the amazing flight with @blueskyhelicopters. Perfect weather for a fly around the harbour and beaches Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 32-64 f4

20.01.2022 Gany has his photos up! Mine will be up soon in the next day or two, so keep an eye out Many thanks also to DomStevens Photography for his help with lighting, as well as Georges Cameras for providing some of the lighting equipment If you'd like to help support our work, you can donate over on our ko-fi here: https://ko-fi.com/matthudson

19.01.2022 Supermoonset mornings Nothing like an early alarm to catch the moon sinking into the smoke. As bad as it is, at least it means that the RFS are getting their prevention burns in to keep us safe in summer Gonna be a long day ahead before bookending it with a moonrise... Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S at 400mm

18.01.2022 Kicking off astro season in style As is tradition, @janbreckwoldt_photography and myself (along with the Sydney Astrophotographers crew) started the Milky Way season off with an early morning session at Barrenjoey lighthouse. Perfect conditions, but a much tougher location since the lighthouse has had an upgrade over the summer. Gone is the pleasing warm incandescent bulb, and instead you have a fancy, heavily green tinted and significantly brighter modern light. Doesn't both...er me one bit though, since the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S is a beast in the dynamic range. Two blended shots; both at 23mm on the GFX 50S. Sky was shot at 60s, f4, ISO 3200 while the foreground was 120s, f5.6, ISO1600. Bring on clear skies

18.01.2022 There's more if you swipe Normally I'd give a clear morning a miss for sunrise; sleep wins out if the clouds aren't coming along. But sometimes, just sometimes it all works out great. A few weeks ago @janbreckwoldt_photography and myself explored Balls Head for sunset, and while the colour didn't go off where and when we wanted it, it still wasn't a fruitless evening. Jan spotted an interesting angle through the bridge, and it turned out that everything aligned nicely fo...r a week or two a month later. Cut to 5am today: a rare, cloud free morning between thunderstorms and rain, a few telephoto lenses and a bit of on the fly trigonometry and we found ourselves with the perfect little alignment. I really loved the layers of light across the headlands behind the bridge. All over in under 5 minutes, then home to catch up on sleep. Something different, something unusual, something worth working on. Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S at 560mm

18.01.2022 I'm giving a talk tonight at Norths Photographic Society meeting (at the Leagues club in Cammeray). Come along if you want to hear about the crazy things I used to do to get the shots. $4pp at the door, I'd say well worth it but I don't want to toot my own horn ;)

17.01.2022 Last photo for the year; Happy New Year everyone!

16.01.2022 Monthly moonset, this time from @tarongazoo . There's a lot of Sydney icons visible, from @sydneyoperahouse and @shangrilasydney to the ANZAC bridge and Robertson Point light. Since Covid restrictions have now lifted, I'm going to start posting up locations for both moonrises and moonsets. Keep an eye on my stories for info. Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S at 400mm

16.01.2022 Tried something different on the Sunday of Oz ComicCon and ditched the lighting (mostly). More to come later

16.01.2022 Nothing like a nice sunset at the end of a busy day. Sometimes you just need a bit of zoom to see it I've swung back away from wide angles again to the complete opposite end of the spectrum. I should put together an image series called "justifying my expensive purchases" Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S at 400mm.

16.01.2022 I don't shoot a lot of moonsets; that's mostly laziness and an unwillingness to get out of bed of there's not a good sunrise. However, @georgescameras did lend me a 800mm, so @janbreckwoldt_photography and myself made the trek to Watson's Bay chasing the perfect alignment. The wind made things a bit challenging, but we made the best of it If you want to learn about how I plan and shoot these kind of shots, I'm running a workshop with @georgescameras on the 12th. Head over to their profile for more info Shot on a @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S. 800mm f/5.6 + 2x extender.

16.01.2022 Harvest Moon Despite doing all the planning for this shot weeks ago, I completely forgot about it until late last week. A few quick reschedules later and I was standing on a staircase with @janbreckwoldt_photography playing my usual game of "Where's the moon?". Lucky for me, everything ran like clockwork and the moon appeared exactly when are where I thought it would Keep an eye on Jan's stories for the behind the scenes, as well as a few shots at 1300mm... Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 110mm f2. @nisifiltersaustralia Natural Night filter also used

15.01.2022 Just a splash of colour to start the day High tides and waves limited the opportunities on Saturday, but there's still a few good ones on the card. Glad things are weathersealed though Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 32-64mm f/4

15.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.... Lest we forget

14.01.2022 We're currently set up under the walkway near The Locker Room construction site. Come say hi and get a photo or two!

14.01.2022 Thanks to Gany.jpg and DomStevens Photography for their assistance Also thanks to Georges Cameras for supplying some of the studio equipment Want to help support our work? Donate on Ko-fi here: http://ko-fi.com/matthudson

14.01.2022 It's Vivid time! Three weeks of lights and colour in Sydney. Come join me Friday night for a photowalk, sponsored by @georgescameras and @nisifiltersaustralia. Details in my bio link Shot on the Fuji GFX 50s with the 32-64mm f4 and a NiSi natural light filter

13.01.2022 I'm in Parkes for Astrofest this weekend. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to get this local icon in front of the full moon on Wednesday, even if the clouds had other ideas. It's 50 years this Sunday from when man first walked on the moon. If you've seen The Dish (or know your local history), then you know why it's important. Looking forward to getting this edited correctly when I get home, but life on the road has its struggles ;)

13.01.2022 Happy New Year from all of us at Fujifilm Australia How are you celebrating New Years Eve this year? Times are different in 2020, but if you're lucky enough... to photograph a fireworks display, here are some tips shared to us by Matt Hudson. "A shutter speed between 4s and 8s in continuous burst mode works very well. It's really easy to overexpose and lose colour in the bursts so aperture and ISO are generally as low as I can get them." Shot at ISO400, DR400%, f/22 and 4s shutter on FUJIFILM GFX 50S + FUJINON GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR Take a look at more of Matt's work, here: instagram.com/matthudsonphoto

12.01.2022 The planned shot from yesterday's adventure. Unfortunately there's just a bit too much smoke in the air to get a clean shot of the skyline, plus being 7km away isn't helping. I'll have to rethink and reshoot another night Wasn't a complete waste though, but you'll have to wait for my next post ;)

11.01.2022 A quiet, cloud-free night out at Norah Head...

11.01.2022 Sunset at Windang It was an impulse decision to head down to Windang a few months ago, and kicked off one of the craziest set of events I've ever seen in one night (including a flat car battery and a incredible meteor). It's on my bucket list to get back to to explore further, but that seems like it will be a while off at this point Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f/4

11.01.2022 There's something really nice about how a telephoto lens compresses a landscape and pushes everything together. There's an entire harbour between some of these objects, but you wouldn't know it by looking Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S at 400mm

11.01.2022 It's getting late in the astro season, but Norah Head lighthouse can still deliver the goods. Not long now until it's goodbye to the Milky Way for the rest of the year. Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 32-64mm f/4. Tracked with the @skywatcheraustralia Star Adventurer

11.01.2022 Macquarie lighthouse moonrise This is the first moon alignment I ever planned, however it's taken a few years to get the shot. Every time I've tried to get it something has gone wrong (usually clouds). Finally, the conditions held to the forecast and I can tick this shot off my list for good. ...well, until I decide I can do better, then it's back on the list.... Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with a 400mm f/2.8 + 2x ext. It's a great example of why I love the GFX; it's 30 minutes after sunset and the light has faded, yet there's the dynamic range and ISO performance to make the shot possible. There's so many moonrises and moonsets where I rely on it to get the shot I want.

11.01.2022 Super moody supermoon I ran an informal get together with @northsphotographicsociety on Monday to shoot the supermoon. The cloud forecast looked great a week out, but as it neared things started to look worse. Thankfully on the night the conditions improved and we got almost 30 minutes of impacted visibility. I actually prefer a bit of cloud for moonrise; while it's far more likely you won't get the shot, if you do manage to get a gap it adds so much character to the images.... Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with an 800mm. Three shot HDR (3s, 0.4s and 1/20s) at f/5.6, ISO 1600

10.01.2022 Smoky Sydney sunset All I'm hoping for this Christmas is rain. We've been lucky in Sydney and just had to deal with the smoke, but the people in the Blue Mountains, Lithgow, Central Coast, Southern Highlands, Mid North Coast... It's a near endless list just for NSW, much less the rest of the country of there's ever a time for a Christmas miracle, it's now Shot on the same night as the Sydney Tower Eye photo. It was amazing how much colour appeared from the brown of the smoke;... I had to run around from Watson's Bay to get this photo Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f4

10.01.2022 I've been wanting to shoot ghost mushrooms for a while now, but had no idea of what our even where to look for them. Luckily, a serendipitous meeting one sunset put me on the right path. I still have no idea what I'm doing, but at least there's been a first step. Unfortunately, ghost mushrooms only last 24-48 hours, and this was shot over two weeks ago, so they're long gone. Fingers crossed for more excellent conditions soon Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f/4

10.01.2022 It’s World Freedom Day, and as relevant as the worlds current and various political freedoms, we can use this day to recognise our wildlife and in particular ou...r birds of prey. Around Australia and the world, raptors are persecuted, baited, shot and injured through human civilisation. Few facilities have the capabilities to take in the birds of prey that cannot fulfil their lives in the wild, and provide them long term and full time care. Freedom of flight is empowering, much like the world coming together reaching for freedom. We at feathered friends are proud of the efforts our BRRC have reached and will continue to do so to encourage environmental awareness and avian protection A fantastic shot by Matt Hudson from our last Hawkers Picnic! Who’s keen to see our events come back into full swing? #worldfreedomday2020

10.01.2022 Thanks Cora Berry Check out some of the other photographers on this list (you'll even spot Gany.jpg as well)

08.01.2022 It's not always stormy in Sydney, but when it is it really turns it on. From the storm front that swept through Sunday afternoon. Glad I was keeping one eye on the @bureauofmeteorology radar, as it pivoted south before it hit the CBD. A quick relocation later and the centre of the storm rolled right over the top of me. Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f/4

08.01.2022 The tower in the trees. I'm pretty sure I've seen this before in an old scifi movie or TV show. I wasn't overly happy with my last attempt, so I did it again. Little bit later moonset (after sunrise), so @sydneytowereye caught that early morning glow, and there was a lot less wind and air movement distorting things. If only every moonrise and set could go so smoothly Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S at 800mm.

08.01.2022 I'm in a competition! I won't tell you who to vote for, just head on over to the album and like the best shots

08.01.2022 Blue moonset December's full moon was a write off for me unfortunately, however November's blue moon was a bit more fruitful. @bennykappler did the hard work this time around planning the alignment, so I just had to get the settings right on the day. Thanks to @fujifilmx_au for the loan of the 250mm f/4 and the extender; it's a really nice piece of glass that I'm going to impulse buy next time it pops up in the cashback (hint hint)

08.01.2022 Merry Christmas! Fireworks were back at Darling Harbour last night, so @janbreckwoldt_photography and myself decided to get some practice in before New Year's Eve. Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f/4

07.01.2022 Between Covid and the weather there hasn't been a lot of astro opportunities this year, unfortunately. I've been making the most of when conditions are decent though. I'm running an astrophotography planning workshop with @georgescameras. Wondering how I know where to be and when? Head on over to their profile to grab tickets and I'll give away all my secrets From early last year, when everything seemed calmer. Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f4. Tracked with the @skywatcheraustralia Star Adventurer

07.01.2022 I'm hosting a workshop with @georgescameras tomorrow night working through how I plan and process my astrophotography images. Head on over to their profile for a chance to win one of 5 free tickets. Be quick; entries close at 4pm This is one of the more complex images I've ever taken; the Milky Way is a 40 image stack, and the bridge is taken right after nautical twilight. Everything was shot from the same spot on the same night, and there's a few tricks to making sure everything combines nicely (get your workshop tickets to find out what they are ) Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f/4. Tracked with the @skywatcheraustralia Star Adventurer.

06.01.2022 Photos from Saturday at Supanova 2019 - Sydney are now up. Lighting by Gany.jpg Studio lighting provided by Georges Cameras... Want to help support or work? Buy us a coffee at https://ko-fi.com/matthudson

06.01.2022 I've recently (well, recently when you factor in Covid) moved south of the harbour, so it's goodbye to the northern beaches sunrises and time to scout out new spots. Already got a few that are just waiting for that perfect combination of sun, clouds and tides Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX with the 32-64 f/4. I'm going to start working on utilising the longer lenses in my bag for landscapes

06.01.2022 Quick few from OzComic Sydney yesterday. We'll be roaming around today, so message me if you want to say hi! Lighting: Gany.jpg and DomStevens Photography

06.01.2022 Sneaky little double post today. This was actually the same morning as my last post (go check it out on my profile if you haven't seen it yet). Unfortunately, my prep work wasn't as good as it should've been, and literally two minutes before I took this they started draining the pool. Thankfully I got a quick shot off and then raced up the road Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S and the 23mm f/4

05.01.2022 I shoot way more than I edit, and I edit way more than I post. That's probably a good thing from a quality point of view, but does nothing to clean up the photo archive. So, while I'm currently unemployed and it's raining outside, it's probably a good time to get the backlog dealt with. That, or fall victim to the siren song of the waterfalls... I struggled to get this shot for ages; conditions weren't right, or they were and the pool was being cleaned, or everything aligned ...but I wasn't in Newcastle. Finally everything aligned nicely on my last morning up there. Somewhat surprised it was only me and two swimmers when I got there, less surprised once sunrise was over and there were 10 other photographers who'd turned up Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with a 23mm f/4

05.01.2022 It's official: Gany.jpg, DomStevens Photography and myself are taking over the photowall at Oz Comic-Con Sydney 2019 on the Saturday. Pop by and get your free photos!

04.01.2022 Swipe for the full shot I've been spending a lot more time up in Newcastle recently, and luckily the sunrises have been putting on a bit of a show. I've had a bit of a goal to get three really nice panoramas, and this is the first of that group. I'm aiming to upload a lot more this year, but we'll see how long that goal lasts. At the moment there's a heap of really nice photos in the archive just waiting to be edited, so if the weather stays boring then there won't be a p...roblem Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 32-64mm f/4

04.01.2022 Last month I had the pleasure of hosting a workshop for @georgescameras at Circular Quay to capture the full moon. Perfect conditions and a good plan meant it all came together at the right moment Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S and the @canonaustralia 400mm f/2.8 + 1.4 ext.

04.01.2022 New cards for Sydney Supanova this weekend. Gany.jpg and myself will be there Saturday and Sunday doing our usual thing. Come say hi if you spot us, or message either of us if you'd like to meet up

03.01.2022 Results of the 2019 CWAS "David Malin Awards" Earlier this evening, the winners of this year’s CWAS David Malin Awards were announced at a special presentatio...n at the CSIRO Parkes Radio Observatory. A web site of the awards featuring pictures of the evening, will be prepared and posted in the coming days. For the first time ever, we had joint overall winners. Congratulations to Phil Hart and Peter Ward. Their entries were of such outstanding quality, each in its own genre, that David was not able to split them. Overall Winners: This year we had two joint overall winners the first time ever. They are: The Moon in Motion Phil Hart (Animations) Citation: A beautifully made series of sequences of the 2017 USA solar eclipse, set to suitably mysterious music. This is by far the finest video we have had submitted in the history of this competition, and the processing and presentation completely embraces both aesthetic and scientific realms with aplomb. Stellar Cauldron Peter Ward (Deep Sky) Citation: This is a vivid and astonishing rendition of the well-known Orion nebula. While it's the vivid red of the ionized hydrogen that catches the eye, the picture also reveals the subtle texture and shading of the dusty regions around and within it. This is one of the finest images of this object that I have ever seen. Photo Editor’s Choice: The winner of the Photo Editor’s Choice was: Moonbow Magic Luke Tscharke (Nightscapes) The winning images by category are: Note: HM = Honorable Mention HC = Highly Commended JUNIOR Winner: How small it makes me feel Austin Turpin HC: Things I never get to see Austin Turpin NIGHTSCAPES Winner: Reach Out Steven Morris HM: Odin's Eye Jarrod Koh HM: Svalbard Illumination Alex van Harmelen HM: ltsi Mountains Aurora Phil Hart HM: Galactic Ghost Benjamin Alldridge HM: Moonrise in the Snowy Mountains Jan Breckwoldt HC: Branched Aurora Luke Tscharke HC: Lake Pamamaroo Star Trails Troy Casswell HC: Moonnbow Magic Luke Tscharke HC: Blue Lake Garry McDougall HC: Twilight Reflections Mark Polsen HC: No Roof Over My Head Jay Evans DEEP SKY Winner: (and joint overall winner) Stellar Cauldron Peter Ward HM: Eta Carina Nebula (NGC 3372) Peter Rejto HM: The Amazing Sombrero Galaxy Andrew Campbell HM: Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex Matthew Hudson HM: Thor's Helmet Andrew Campbell HM: The Jewels in Orion's Sword William Vrbasso HC: The Blue Angel William Vrbasso HC: Clouds of doubt Peter Ward HC: Flying Nebulas in the LMC Andrew Campbell HC: Ruby Galaxy Peter Ward HC: The Southern Pinwheel Galaxy Lee Borsboom HC: Large Magellanic Cloud Nebula LH120-No70 Greg Bradley HC: Carina Nebula RGB data Diego Colonnello WIDE FIELD Winner: The Scorpion's Tail Troy Casswell HM: Argo Navis Peter Ward HM: The Witch Head Nebula in Eridanus Ross Giakoumatos HM: Magellanic Cloud Structures Troy Casswell HM: Jupiter Rides the Scorpion Troy Casswell HC: Andromeda Galaxy M31 Ross Giakoumatos HC: The Dark Doodad Neighbourhood Ross Giakoumatos HC: Large Magellanic Cloud HaLRGB Jarrod Koh HC: Scorpius Jarrod Koh - THEME "Memories of Apollo" Winner: Lunar Generations Neil Creek HM: Earth, Moon and Mars Peter Patonai HM: Supermoon behind Opera House Matthew Hudson HM: Moon over Nobby's lighthouse Matthew Hudson HM: Tribute to Apollo 11 Stephen Mudge HC: Moonrise over Nobby's Matthew Hudson HC: Montage of A Lunar Eclipse Jarrod Koh HC: Our Connection with the Heavens & Apollo 11 Noeleen Lowndes SOLAR Winner: Colourful Apennines Eddie Trimarchi HM: Touch The Sky Trent McDougall HM: Streamers Phil Hart HM: Colourful Waning Gibbous Moon Eddie Trimarchi HC: Into the Shadow Peter Ward HC: The Christmas Comet of 2018 Ross Giakoumatos HC: Peekaboo Moon Andy Casely HC: Oblate Paul Haese ANIMATIONS Aesthetic: Winner (and joint overall winner): The Moon in Motion Phil Hart HC: Blood Moon Mitch Payne HC: Interstellar Impact Russell Wiltshire Scientific: HC: Lunar Eclipse Animation 31 Jan 2018 Colin Legg PHOTO EDITOR’S CHOICE The Winners in each category were: Deep: Flying Nebulas in the LMC Andrew Campbell Junior: How small it makes me feel Austin Turpin Night: overall winner! 03.01.2022 More rain, more waterfalls. I've got a heap from the last wet weekend that I still need to go through. Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with a 23mm f/4

02.01.2022 We're set up under the covered area at SMASH today. Come by and say hi!

02.01.2022 A new one from an old sunrise Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with the 23mm f4

01.01.2022 Who's ready for the blue moon on Monday? Moonrise photos aren't easy: first you have to find a subject that's in the right place, then you need the clouds to play ball. I tried for a few months to get the moon rising behind @sydneyobservatory, however weather and eventually the seasonal progression of the moon put an end to that idea (at least, until next year) So instead, enjoy a composite image. Is it cheating? Probably, but I'm claiming the wasted time and effort to do it ...right make it legitimate Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50 with a 400mm f/2.8 + 2x ext. Blue hour shot combined with a photo of the moon later on the same night

01.01.2022 Summer sunsets in Sydney (swipe for the full pano) I've been quite lucky for the last few weeks as @fujifilmx_au loaned me some really nice kit. If you've been following my stories you'll know about the X-T3 and 100-400, but the real gem is the 250mm f/4 for my GFX. It's an amazing piece of glass, especially for sunsets when the colour hugs the horizon Shot on the @fujifilmx_au GFX 50S with a 250mm f/4

01.01.2022 Farewell to the Hornets at Williamtown I was lucky enough to be up in Newcastle this week as the @ausairforce No. 77 Squadron says farewell to the F/A-18A/B Hornet. They've been doing aerial displays all week up and down the coast, including a four aircraft display over @nobbyslighthouse yesterday. Unfortunately I wasn't able to catch the eight aircraft today, but I'm sure it was an amazing show Full disclosure: the first image is a composite; like all good fighter aircraft the Hornet is very small and very fast, and while it would've been amazing to get all four in the right place it just wasn't possible.
