25.01.2022 Today we publicly released the Expert Panel’s Report into water quality in Tuggerah Lakes. This is the first time science, data and community feedback have... been brought together in the one place. The Report shows that our community believes a reset in Central Coast Council’s management of water quality problems is required. The Report makes 50 recommendations which the NSW Government and the Council will now jointly consider and respond to. Thank you to Associate Professor Will Glamore and his team for developing this thorough and extensive Report.

25.01.2022 Today, I joined Gladys Berejiklian, as well as Nathaniel Smith and Wendy Tuckerman for the gazettal of Guula Ngurra National Park in the beautiful southern highlands. Featuring critical koala habitat, so important to the longevity of Australia’s most loved native animal and part of my commitment to expand our national parks estate by 200,000 hectares within two years, which we will exceed in one year, thanks to today’s announcement.

19.01.2022 On World Ranger Day, Friday 31st of July 2020. I was honoured to speak as a part of a memorial service at George Phillips Lookout in the Blue Mountains National Park to commemorate and remember all NPWS staff who have lost their lives whilst on duty, in service to the community.

16.01.2022 Today the NSW parliament passed the Electricity Infrastructure bill which will modernise our electricity system in a way that creates thousands of local jobs, drives billions of investment into the regions and delivers some of the cheapest reliable electricity in the world. In passing the Bill today - the parliament sent an emphatic statement that we embrace the future and that our best days lie ahead of us. So let the the word go forth, this State, is going to take its plac...e with the leaders of the world in taking our planet toward a more prosperous cleaner future. 15.01.2022 COVID-19 Update PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT: Pennant Hills St Agatha’s Catholic Parish NSW Health is advising people who attended a service at St Agatha’s in Pennant Hills on Wednesday 5 August and Thursday 6 August to be alert for symptoms of COVID-19. One of the cases reported in today’s figures attended early masses from 6:30 am to 7:00am on both of these days, prior to the onset of their symptoms.... People who were at the church at these times are urged to watch out for any symptoms of COVID-19, and if they occur, to immediately self-isolate and seek testing. 13.01.2022 I was excited to announce in this months Bush Telegraph Weekly planning has started for the lifts at Thornleigh and Normanhurst station. Investigation work has already commenced and the community will have their say early next year. Subject to planning approval construction will start mid 2021. This is about ensuring everyone in our community can access the station

13.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE A health care worker who has tested positive for COVID-19 worked one shift while infectious at Hornsby Hospital’s emergency department, from 11am to midnight on Thursday 6 August. The staff member became unwell after their shift and immediately self-isolated and got tested. The staff member had been wearing a mask at all times while in contact with patients. Staff who have had contact with the health care worker have been identified and instructed to self...-isolate for 14 days. There is no impact on the services being provided by the emergency department. Members of the public who attended the Emergency Department between 11am and midnight on Thursday and who had contact with the health care worker are currently being identified and notified. The health care worker is a household contact of another case reported today.

12.01.2022 Today, I was thrilled to open the Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary, a purpose-built conservation facility, built to care for sick, injured and orphaned koalas, whilst providing visitors the opportunity to see the marsupials in their natural habitat and learn more about these iconic Australian animals. The sanctuary with its hospital and rehabilitation enclosures will play a critical role in preserving the koala population through care, research and education, working towards my goal of doubling NSW’s Koala Population by 2050.

01.01.2022 Today I announced that we will create a new National Park in South West Sydney to protect NSW’s last disease free Koala population forever. We will spend $84m to purchase private land to create a continuous link between Kentlyn and Dharawal national park, install 120km of safety fencing and revegetate essential corridors by planting over 100,000 feed trees. This is about ensuring our kids and their kids will be able to see koalas in the wild.
