24.01.2022 A bit of fun the other day with the General. Barra can be hard to tempt after heavy rain, with fresh in the creeks the bite gets a lot more specific.... Running live baits when there is fresh in the creeks sometimes brings a lot more bites especially if you can find some prawns!!! Yummy!!!

11.01.2022 VIBE’s bursted on the seen a long time ago then we’re kicked off again with the rebirth of soft and hard vibes some years back, with the increase number of rec fishos in the new Millennium compared to the 80’s and 90’s. The interest sawed which then created a massive demand on supply and design. Which is always good for the fisho who is for ever trying to find something new.. These fish and many more all fell to a selection of Vibes with the standout being the Madness vibe, which is one of my favourite as it puts out a unique pulse..
11.01.2022 Been toying with a little boat project of late .... You can do a lot with little boats and get into some cool places, this little 3.75 blue fin trecker should come up a treat when done...
10.01.2022 Nothing better than Natural land locked Barramundi, especiallywhen they haven’t seen lures before. The bite changed threw the morning before it finally went quite, but even quite Barra can’t resist a well presented Castaic jerky J..
09.01.2022 Absolute weapon for sale... https://www.facebook.com/511376974/posts/10157459054976975/

07.01.2022 Going through some old family albums from my Nana’s place. Look at this young fella some 18 yrs ago . One of the best jobs I ever had working in a tackle shop....... I spent my pay most weeks before it touched my wallet...
07.01.2022 Wet weather Barramundi are not always easy to tempt on lures when creeks have a lot of fresh around.. When in doubt go live bait, like these couple of fish that recently fell victim too some live prawn and live micky mullet...

05.01.2022 Some great modeling on the wet season ahead which has already been pretty good for our little Barra stocks... https://www.facebook.com/1973438356231213/posts/2503004513274592/?d=n
02.01.2022 One question I get asked all the time is how do I increase my catch rate. This is not a one line answer that’s for sure as there are several factors that effects this outcome. One good start is a underlining respect for the prey at hand. These things are apex predators that are extremely smart and super powerful... One good start is upgrading terminal tackle, below is a few examples of damaged gear from 60 to 80cm fish. If you are unlucky enough to have assist hook in one jaw and the main hook in the other you are bound to get busted up due to the extreme power of the jaw mechanics which help these fish fish devour there prey...
01.01.2022 Hey fishos a good mate is selling some fly gear... check it out!!! https://www.facebook.com/100001393683221/posts/3430083303714759/?d=n
01.01.2022 Well the Barramundi closed season yet again here, it’s been a great year with really good numbers caught. My focus has been away from the Stocked impoundments and totally on the salt, we’re I’ve re visited old approaches and pushed the envelope on some different areas and theories.. It’s been awarding and disappointing at the same time but well worth the try, with every estuary offering potential variances to standard tide time traditions. At the end of the day it’s all about the flow, and the ever changing bite windows that suit. It never gets old and revisiting old tactics and theory’s helps you remember what you once forgot and opens eyes to future approaches... below are a few of the PB’s I had the pleasure of enjoying with good mates.
01.01.2022 Pretty sick!! https://www.facebook.com/220194447995433/posts/3842693109078864/?d=n
01.01.2022 Well it’s been a long time between post there’s many changes in my life over recent months that have occurred since the whole Covid # started here in Australia. Since that period I have become semi retired. Which to be honest is quite enjoyable to say the least. Basically been playing around the house, maintaining a positive mindset for any future work opportunities and setting up my little barra boat and doing (of course) a little fishing... One of many trips was a bre...ak up trip with a good friend which I worked with for many years. The idea was to fish three totally different creeks and rivers, in three days. As most of the fishing nuts out there would know you just have do deal with the cards you get dealt, especially when it comes down to weather/tides.. First day wasn’t to bad but on day two we had a major change as a cold front run through from down south. South westerly winds not my favourite that’s for sure. As expected there was no problem finding fish with the Helix 10 G3 the problem was getting the bites. It took as many tricks as I could think of with three different water colours that ranged from 17-19 degrees. Reaction bites on different jerk and hard bodies with painstaking long pauses, slowly hopped plastic shads and squid with light heads for presentation, slowly rolled different prawns, and of course the trusty vibe... All the above was a specific colour in the smaller variety, as you can imagine with that water temp... We ended up with close to 30+ fish for the trip with over half being barra, with a lot of cast between specific windows of opportunity, and to finish off with Jason taking out the biggest fish for the trip a chunky 121cm Barramundi ... One to remember!!
