18.01.2022 We are pleased to announce the City of Charles Sturt and the City of Port Adelaide Enfield are establishing a local government owned Material Recovery Facility ...(MRF) to process its kerbside recyclables. The move to establish the MRF, located at Mill Court in Kilburn, will enable the two Councils to take control of management of the processing and disposal of their recyclable material, while adding value to the circular economy. To be completed in early 2021, the new state-of-the-art MRF facility will cost an estimated $12.8 million to build with costs shared equally between the councils. It will provide a continuous, affordable, stable and sustainable service for residents of the Cities of Port Adelaide Enfield and Charles Sturt. City of Charles Sturt Mayor Angela Evans said This new MRF will enable both Councils to directly demonstrate to our ratepayers how we process and sell our recyclable materials, so we can be more accountable to them about how their rates are spent, and where their recycling goes. We are sending an important message to our residents today; that we are serious about providing leadership in waste management and ensuring their waste is being recycled as it should be. City of Port Adelaide Enfield Mayor Claire Boan said Kerbside recycling is our most visible and valued service to our communities. There are significant reputational, environmental and economic benefits through managing our recycling in our local area. This facility will have a significant impact on our future, and I look forward to the day when I can show my children the results of this great recycling initiative. 16.01.2022 Well done to all across Charles Sturt (and fantastic work by our Beverley Ward winners!)

16.01.2022 Looking forward to saying hello to as many residents as possible at this Saturday’s Street Corner Meetings in West Hindmarsh, Welland, and Allenby Gardens! West Hindmarsh: 9am @ Cnr of Albemarle and Bond Welland: 9:45am @ Cnr of Frederick and Brand... Allenby Gardens: 10:30am @ Allenby Gardens Reserve, Lewanick St

15.01.2022 Your chance to have your say! It’s important to me (and an election commitment) that Council takes time to reach out and listen. That’s why I’m proud to have advocated strongly to ensure our Beverley Ward suburbs (especially Flinders Park as the most recently rolled out) were part of this latest consultation.... While the decision to change to 40 km/h in local streets was made some years ago, it’s been clear from door knocking and street corner meetings that many feel they haven’t had a chance to share their view, while others want to give feedback on how the change is working in action. So now’s your chance: share what’s working, what’s not so well, ideas for improvement and any other thoughts or feedback! I promise, I’ll read every response, and work with my fellow councillors to ensure all feedback is genuinely considered and acted upon where there’s clear community views.
