15.01.2022 This might interest you I’m holding a sealed jar of boiling water , It’s not hot,... In fact it’s luck to be 15degrees c, It’s under a strong vacuum , Boiling from the heat out of my hand, This is how a vac pump removes any moisture from an ac system prior to regassing , It can’t pull the last bit of moisture out, That’s what a receiver drier is for Call us at Hawkesbury Mobile Mechanical if you need your ac serviced or most repairs and service ,

14.01.2022 Fella calls asking how much to regas his ac , I told him how much but explained that there is a bit more to the systems than gas and he would be welcome to bring it around for an assessment and diagnosis . Sometimes a repair can cost less than a regas ! ... Even when blowing hot air !! He brought the vehicle around and although it had lost a significant amount of gas , it had other issues . The low pressure side of the system was too high thus causing insufficient cooling , This was caused by a faulty heater control unit which controls not only the heater system but also the ac operating pressures , blower fan speeds , vent control and more, There are twelve electronic control modules which enable this system to operate as designed , including the body control module and engine control module . This provides functions such as shutting down the ac system in times of engine distress ( ie , overheating ) Most of the time , the cause of an ac fault is very simple to diagnose and repair but occasionally we get into the depths , If you have any concerns regarding your vehicle ac system, give me a call and I’ll help you , Thanks , Matt Dennison

10.01.2022 So my ol mate turns up with poor ac performance , Found dog hair all over the evaporator blocking air flow and inhibiting cooling efficiency as well as rotted condenser fins stopping heat escape up the front, A quick clean of the evap , a change of condenser . New filter/ drier and service port valves and a regas with oil and tracer dye ,... Cold as ice
