22.01.2022 Bit behind on posting photos of my latest work. This is one from last year. Will try and track down some before photos to show the transformation. Customer said it is the easiest bathroom to clean now

20.01.2022 Can we tile over our existing tiles? Short answer is yes, with the appropriate preparation. However, there is a risk you take when deciding to do this. The risk is in the original layer of tiles. If the original tiles were laid poorly or not to standard, there is a chance they may lift or go 'drummy' down the track. This may affect subsequent layers of tiles. Another point to remember is that as a new layer of tiles is added, the floor height is raised, and doors will most pr...obably need to be cut accordingly. As for wall tiling, I think it can be a bad idea to tile over existing tiles. This doubles the weight hanging on your wall sheeting. However if it is a block or brick wall, there shouldn’t be any weight issues. See more

18.01.2022 Hello sunshine Great day to be in the garden.

12.01.2022 QUICK TIP Always check your tiler is licensed and insured. You can check their licence number at www.qbcc.qld.gov.au

11.01.2022 FAQ: Can I have little grout joints with my tiles? Let me start by saying there are many different types and quality of tile. Most tiles with sharp, rectified edges are near perfectly cut so small joints would be fine. Most wall tiles can also be laid with small joints. However, most of your standard floor tiles with nice bevelled edges should be laid with larger grout joints of 5mm minimum. This is because the tiles themselves can vary in size of up to 3mm and even be out of... square. Hence the bigger grout joint to accommodate this. As a general rule, the cheaper the tile, the worse they are. See more

10.01.2022 Now these are nice bathrooms.

08.01.2022 FAQ: Will it be cheaper to lay bigger tiles? No. The most economical tile for me to lay on the floor is between 300x300mm to 450x450mm tile. When tiles are large (ie 600x600mm plus), they are expected to be a mirror finish with absolute minimal (1mm) lippage, if any. achieving a high standard of finish can be very time consuming given most floors we are working on are never dead flat to start with. For a tiler to achieve this, sometimes the floors need levelling first. If we are lucky, we can just use a bigger trowel to accommodate this. But either way, it becomes more time consuming and there is more material being used, hence greater costs.
