18.01.2022 Decided to use my time productively for now. STAYING HOME. They say things always come in threes, ... to that I can attest, for here in The Upper Murray we've been made to stand the test by weathering out the bushfire, then been thwarted by flash flood, and now the thought of virus is stirring in our blood. Now I've always sought for positives to help me make it through, but had to cancel me paid up guests... disappointment sticks like glue, so I'm home in isolation dealing with the strain, while life sucks all around me, I'm hoping for some rain... to keep me tanks full of water, to keep me plants fresh and green, to heal the blackened gum trees which are so much of the brilliant scene that I've been blessed to share in better times now past, folks, we all must keep believing that this misery won't last. I let the birds steal most of me fruit, they found a Royal feast, while I looked on in approval, it seemed the very least I could do to help them to survive, I've never seen such numbers trying to stay alive. Me selfsprung pumkins are doing well the zuchinni is going mad, I've still some spuds left in the ground, so I reckon I'm pretty glad to be resting on me merits while the World's still in the poo, that's what keeps me positive, I hope I'll make it through... What About You?

16.01.2022 Guess what REGIONAL VICTORIA? As of midnight last night we are now able to WELCOME YOU BACK! (Sorry Metro Melbourne residents but you’ll have to wait a little bit longer) Spring has definitely sprung in the High Country and due to the easing of COVID restrictions we are now able to open our campsite again. Social distancing and mask-wearing still apply, but all facilities including the camp kitchen, showers, and toilet blocks are now open. School holidays start tomorrow, so... what are you waiting for? Pack the tent or the van, throw the kids in the car, and head on up to our little piece of paradise in North East Victoria. 05.01.2022 Due to the current COVID-19 situation, and according to the latest Federal Government requirements, we wish to advise that The Resting Place is CLOSED to all non-essential travellers until further notice. If you are travelling around Australia and can not get home to your place of residence, we are still able to accommodate you, and will do so with all social distancing rules in place. However, If you were planning on visiting us for the Easter holidays (and you live locally, or have a home you can remain at) we are not allowed to let you stay. PLEASE STAY HOME! Just like the bushfires we know that this too shall pass...and when it does Maurie looks forward to welcoming you all back to The Resting Place.
