21.01.2022 In creating a financial plan everyone is their own story, each of us have our own goals, aspirations and needs that are constantly evolving. Whether your just starting out, looking to build or protect your wealth for that day when you finally retire or even if you are in those retirement years, regardless of how young or young at heart you are it is never too early or too late to plan or have a financial plan that is made for you. A financial plan is not a set and forget thing, it is a well thought out process that can take time and effort to put together and keep it relevant.

19.01.2022 There is a lot in the way of conversation from financial advisers surrounding the potential banning of commissions on insurance policies. Maven Capital is a strong advocate for open and frank conversation about matters that are as socially important as this. We also believe there is a place for insurance commissions, given full disclosure this model gives the client a much broader scope of available options, transparency and a cost structure that most clients understand and a...ppreciate, a lot of these clients would balk at the idea of paying a FFS and potentially leads to the client seeking out cheaper options that may not meet their needs. We recommend financial advisers and anyone in the financial market for that matter to read the excellent paper written by Brett Wright - Comparing Commissions Vs No Commission + Advised Insurance Alternatives. (https://brettwright572.lpages.co/advised-life-insurance/). Also the follow up article that includes industry responses. https://riskinfo.com.au//the-case-for-retaining-commissi/ See more

07.01.2022 With all that is going within the world of Financial Advisers it is no wonder there is much anxiety not only brought about by helping clients deal with the uncertainties of the COVID-19 world, financial advisers are having to cope with what appears to be a constant barrage negativity on top of the subsequent changes to education standards. Fortunately The Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) has provided some assistance by granting an extension to the exa...m deadline for existing advisers to 1st January 2022 and the education standard (degree) to 1st January, 2026. Whilst this is good news and helps by giving a little more time to cope with everything it is not a time to be complacent, just consider how close we are to 1st January, 2021 and how quickly that has come around. With this in mind we came across an interesting article from the Money Management website, https://www.moneymanagement.com.au//debunking-fasea-study- It gives an idea of how some advisers are thinking and debunks some of the myths floating around. For those advisers who have not yet sat the exam the following might also be helpful: https://www.fasea.gov.au/prepare/ This link includes FASEA FG003 Exam Preparation Guide and FG004 Practice questions and might prove valuable for determining how much preparation an adviser needs. #abingdonwealth#johnwhelan#financialadviser#financialplanner#superannuation#investment#financialadvice#francesgriffin#dominicbest#vaughnbuendicho#corybehrens#kevinwishart#nicholascooke See more

01.01.2022 The average age of Australian financial advisor is 55, meaning that many of them are likely planning to retire within the next two decades (fingers crossed). What is Succession Planning? Think of a succession plan as a living document that records exactly how you want the next chapter of your business story to unfold a tool designed to ensure one of your most valuable assets continues to thrive for many years following your departure. Not only it covers your professional l...ife - it helps you to architect your future lifestyle too (that cruise trip around the world you’ve been planning for the last decade ) Succession planning is just as beneficial for a small business as it is for a large corporation. Unfortunately, business owners who underestimate the importance of planning often regret it. Neglecting to choose and prepare a qualified successor can quickly destroy a business. Putting off estate planning can lead to unnecessary stress and conflict. And failing to plan well in advance for the sale of your business can result in getting much less than your company’s actual worth. mavencapital.com.au #financialadvisor #financialplanner #retirementplanning #wealthmanagement
