08.01.2022 Every child is different and requires an individual approach. There are some first dental visit tips: ... Make an appointment in the morning, when kids are not tired. Before you come, it is a good idea to show some pictures of the dentist you take your child to .It would be good if a child can see photos, videos of what the dentist does. Let them know how it is important to keep the teeth healthy and their dentist will help them with it. It is better to arrive earlier , so kids can become familiar with the office and dental staff. Inform the dentist about medical conditions or anything about the child's behavior ,so we can adjust the approach. Rememberer it takes teamwork between child, parent and the dentist to achieve good oral health. Maintain a positive attitude. Be sure you do not have negative comments about trips to the dentist. Unfortunately this one we can hear very often. If you have dental anxiety yourself, it is advisable not to share it with your kids, who can pick it up easily. It is a good idea not to use the words drill, needle, fear etc. Dentists usually use special words to explain what is going on. At Maven dental we make it a priority to ensure that every child leaves their first visit with us smiling.

04.01.2022 Please do not give up on your kids' flossing battle! It is a hard job for parents , but decays do happen between baby teeth as well and it is difficult and costly to repair. Before kids are 12-13 year old , they would need help with flossing. Try to show, do not tell. It should be done at least once a day . Waxed floss is usually easier to use. Help your kids to make flossing a lifetime habit and they would thank you later!

It is very lower maintenance. There are 2 main types of dental veneers- porcelain and composite. To choose which type is right for you , you need to consider a few things. ... Both materials can beautifully transform your smile . Both veneers can give you whiter or straighter teeth. Porcelain veneers are more expensive. But you need to keep in mind that probably you need to replace/repair composite veneers more often. The placement of porcelain takes more time, resources and usually involves the dental lab technician. Porcelain veneers can take at least 2 visits. Composite bonding can be great in some selective cases, but ceramic veneers will look more natural and it will last much longer. Timewise composite veneers can be done chairside at the same visit. Composite veneers with time can lose their initial shine . They may require more maintenance and repair because they are not as strong as ceramic veneers.They are more prone to chipping and staining.Follow up treatments usually need more frequently.
