05.01.2022 WIN FOR DAD IN PARENTAL ALIENATION CASE Appeal to the Full Court of the Family Court of Australia was dismissed in a telling case of parental alienation and enmeshment. On final orders in 2016, the Father was granted sole parental responsibility of the two children and the Mother was granted limited time on a graduated basis. ... These 2016 final orders amended the previous orders made in 2010 for the children to live with the mother. As a result of the mother's failure to show an understanding of the importance of a meaningful bond between a child and their father, his Honour held that the children were at risk of long-term psychological harm and would not have a real relationship with their father if they remained in her care. The mother appealed the decision in 2017. The appeal was dismissed on the grounds that the appeal was not competent. The mother was to pay the father's costs of appeal.
