22.01.2022 Fairfield Road, Yeronga. Here we have Fairfield Road in 1973 shortly after the November 4th tornado that swept through the area and destroyed many buildings in ...its path. The tornado travelled from Brookfield to Eight Mile Plains, then onto Victoria Point and travelled a distance on 51km, while being between 100m to 230m wide. 1390 buildings were damaged. 500 of which were deemed structurally unsound, while 500 lost their roofs. One of the buildings destroyed was the Ideal Picture Theatre, which stood on this site since 1923. Its common to change your day to day routine (such as brushing, flossing or changing your Invisalign aligners) during school holiday times whilst other things may become a priority over your dental health. Remember its always a good idea to enjoy things in moderation. A lot of people have been noticing a bit of sensitivity in their teeth since winter arrived. Using a bit of Oral-B Sensodyne or Colgate Pro-relief toothpaste may be the first step to battle the winter chills. If that hasnt helped we are just a phone call or email away. 15.01.2022 Sometimes I just want to cry. I had a mum see me and she brought in this photo. What you are seeing is a young child (11 months) who is so obstructed by their t...onsils that to try and breathe their chest wall is being sucked in and collapsing on itself due to excessive muscular activity. This child was dismissed by a GP as being OK because they had not had tonsillitis. This is so very wrong and is a common and repeated experience. I am all for collegiality and mutual respect but this is just not right. This child is in extremis. Please take note: 1. Tonsillectomy is most commonly done due to obstruction. 2. Paediatric ENTs could not care less if a child has never had tonsillitis if they are obstructed. 3. They dont need to have sleep apnoea to warrant surgery 4. They dont grow into their tonsils 5. This child is at risk of heart failure and brain damage 6. They are not too young for surgery. 7. They dont need a sleep study. 8. It is a category 1 or 2 condition needing urgent attention within a few weeks- even 6 months is too long 9. See a paediatric ENT that focuses on airway problems and can quote the literature when providing an opinion. 10. Dont ignore snoring or mouth breathing in kids. Im going to spend the next month posting on this. Enough is enough when cases like this are being dismissed. This post needs to go viral. Please make it so. Kids need your help.
