The worm farm drips into a soil bank in a 500litre pot - this provides very rich soil for potting plants and is an environmentally sensible way to fertilise your garden. The castings are regularly put on the garden beds. http://www.beyondworms.com/Products.html

08.01.2022 This garden bed houses a line of Davison's plum trees which forms a top canopy. Davidson's Plum , also known as Mullumbimby Plum, is a small, slender subtropical rainforest tree up to 10 metres high. It is endemic to a restricted area of northern New South Wales. The tree's fruit emerge from the trunk, it is considered an endangered species listed under both NSW and Australian legislation. http://www.nativerainforestplum.com/davidsonia-jerseyana.ht http://www.anfil.org.au/...key-nat/flavour-of-the-month-april/ These plums are used to make jam and on occasion are sampled by king parrots. As the Davison's plum trees tower above as a top level canopy this allows other fruit trees to grow below. In the lower layer we have: Wax Jambu - water rose apple tree Custard apple - 2 varieties Santol White guava Pawpaw Persimmon Lower levels include: Red Cordyline Heliconia Ginger Croton - a focal plant when approaching from the eastern side This garden bed is lined with approx. 36 parlour palms. On the southern end of this garden bed a Black mulberry tree is housed in a 500 litre pot. - a favourite fruit of our Doberman.

07.01.2022 The front fence is planted with white bougainvillea and white climbing roses. Gates are 3metres each with a removable centre post allowing a 6metre entrance if required. A free hanging bird table attracts a number of parrot species. For an explanation of 'sympodial' please follow the link http://www.bambooworld.com.au/pages/general_sympodial.php All garden beds have been regularly mulched with Tea tree mulch - at least every 9 months. Initially all garden beds were treated with bio-dynamic 'formula 500' and worm castings. No chemicals have been used in this garden. There is a 500 litre plant pot which has been painted with the same textured paint as the feature colour of the house. This contains a collector bamboo 'Chungii', a fantastic ornamental bamboo http://www.bamboodownunder.com.au//retail-catalogue/Chungii , a white walled 'blue' bamboo which retail as a semi mature speciment in a 100litre bag for over $600. On the Eastern side of the front yard is a specially designed planter box - this allows the plants to be easily removed and split for propagation. This planter box houses two collector varieties, a lemon bamboo and a weeping Papuan bamboo.
