17.01.2022 Granting wishes right now is difficult, but that doesnt mean we arent brightening the day of our wish children. Just like how our sweet sixteen wish child Sarah received some precious gifts from her wish genies. Diagnosed with intractable epilepsy, she wished to see the colourful coral of the Great Barrier Reef from a helicopter!... Sarah adores pretty gemstones and all things colourful, so volunteers gave her some special gemstones to add to her collection to enjoy their beautiful colours until her wish comes true and she can see all the colours of the coral in person. What a collection! #WishesAreWaiting

16.01.2022 Turnback Tuesday... to this time last year when July-born wish child Shayla simply asked for a summer birthday like her sisters. This is something Shayla dreamed of throughout her treatment. Last July Shaylas wish came true, and her family flew to Queensland so she could experience some sun, sand and warmth for her special day. ... Her birthday wish trip was everything she wanted and more. She got to swim, have a birthday picnic and even celebrate with some of her favourite marine animals. Although she might be in for another chilly birthday this year, Shayla still loves looking back over photos and mementos and remembering last years sun-soaked birthday!

14.01.2022 What wish did eight year old Dylan Choo-Choo-choose ? As a train enthusiast, especially when it comes to diesel and freight trains, he wanted to see where big trains sleep. Being partially deaf, a big part of why he loves trains so much is because he can feel the vibrations, so the closer, the better!... Last September Southern Shorthaul Railroad in Bendigo helped us bring Dylans wish to life. He spent the day having a rail-y good time with the team seeing how it all worked and riding upfront of the train with his sister tooting the horn. By the end of the day, he was pretty much a qualified train driver (in our eyes at least) Dylan still loves looking at pictures and videos from the day so our awesome volunteers made a photo book and DVD for Dylan so that he could keep reliving his special day again and again! What a choo-riffic wish!

Zacharys existing condition and addition of overcoming cancerous tumours affected his fine motor skills, but playing with LEGO helped him regain them. 13.01.2022 Our volunteers go to great lengths (and heights) for our wish children. On Sunday Taina dropped 220m from the Central Park building as she raised money to grant more wishes. Not only does she take bold steps for fundraising, Taina is also one of our branch’s three Volunteer Coordinators, who’s role is to welcome new volunteers and support all branch volunteers.

Phoenix, whose rare disease is fatal, had his superhero wish postponed due to COVID-19. ... But like other #WishesAreWaiting, Phoenixs wish will happen and will make a tremendous difference, according to mum Faune. "I smile just thinking about how much hes going to love it," she said. 09.01.2022 Telethon Community Cinemas has been supporting Make-A-Wish Australia Perth Branch for years. Thanks to this successful fundraiser, and all the movie goers that supported it, countless wishes have been granted for sick kids in Perth. Make-A-Wish feels very lucky to have just finished another season as one of the selected children's charities to benefit. As you can see, our volunteers love it too!

09.01.2022 17 year old Brodie is a budding surf photographer and all-round cool dude Brodies wish is to take professional photos of the Rip Curl Pro. It was all lined up for this year but, like many of our current wishes, was postponed due to COVID-19. While he is waiting, we sent Brodie a new lens for his existing camera so he can keep practising his impressive skills and keep focused on his wish!... Mum Suzy said the arrival of the lens boosted Brodies spirits. "After receiving the news (that we fully expected) that the trip to Bells Beach wouldnt go ahead this year I cant tell you how excited Brodie was to discover the lens had been sent to him. Honestly, this has just made this awful period so much better for Brodie. Hes been taking photos with it and absolutely loves it". We cant wait to eventually see Brodies snaps from the next Rip Curl Pro!

04.01.2022 PERTH WINNER!!!! The winning ticket in the national, digital online raffle was none other than Perth local Shanti who won the $5,000 holiday voucher. Choosing between the Cairns tropical sun or spectacular Tasmanian coastline when travel restrictions lift, Shanti was extremely surprised when she got the call to say she had won.... I have never won anything in my life, not even a pen. I have never been lucky, Shanti said. Its been so stressful with COVID, not being able to take holidays. Work has been busy, so it was nice news. 01.01.2022 14 year old Vienna who loves animals and has always dreamed of having a dog, had no hesitation in making her wish for a caramel Cavoodle puppy. Vienna who had lymphoma and underwent a bone marrow transplant, with her brother Luca being her brave donor, also wanted to be able to share her wish with her brother. She thought a puppy they can both love for many years was the perfect wish. Little Indie is very happy in her home
