14.01.2022 muraay (Gamilaraay for sulphur-crested cockatoo). There is a large (and very noisy) breeding ground of muraay in the old river gums along the Gwydir River State Conservation Area below Copeton Dam Inverell. I also regularly have to send my birray (son) to chase them off my orchard at home. They particularly like my three almond trees and my ten apricots.

08.01.2022 Are you serious... a swimming echidna using his snout as a snorkel Check out this amazing footage of this little fella making it all the way across the Swan R...iver, at Bicheno on Tassie's east coast, thanks to Ashley Hallam. Surprisingly, echidnas are good swimmers, paddling about with only the snout and a few spines showing. They have been seen to cross wide beaches to swim and groom themselves in the sea... how cute is that! #Tasmania We love to share your Tassie videos with the world. You can inbox us or post to our wall. If you are on instagram you can tag either of our accounts via the hashtags #TasmaniaGram or #InstaTasmania :) #Tasmania

06.01.2022 Superb fairy-wren chicks start their song lessons while still inside their eggs and it seems they are particularly keen on their father’s singing.
