25.01.2022 Orthodox Good Friday Many Orthodox Christian churches in Australia often observe Good Friday at a later date than the Good Friday date observed by many western churches. Good Friday focuses on Jesus Christ’s death, which is described in the Christian bible. The day is also known as Great Friday, Holy Friday, and Holy and Great Friday.

22.01.2022 On Wednesday we had the pleasure of going to see Richard Jewell for our first movie night of 2020. Thank you to all who came and if anyone is wanting to see a great movie that will keep your eyes glued to the screen from start to finish, then this is the movie to see. Thanks also to cucina105 for making, as always, such beautiful and delicious food.

21.01.2022 We fell asleep in one world, and woke up in another. Suddenly Disney is out of magic. Paris is no longer romantic. New York doesn't stand up anymore. The Chinese wall is no longer a fortress and Mecca is empty. Hugs and kisses suddenly became weapons, and not visiting parents and friends becomes an act of love. Suddenly you realise that power, beauty and money are worthless and can't get you the oxygen you're fighting for. The world continues its life and it is beautiful. I think its sending us a message: "You are not necessary. The air, earth, water and sky without you are fine. When you come back, remember you are my guests, not my masters". (Unknown writer)

20.01.2022 "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them".

20.01.2022 Monthly Community Focus: Vanessa Leigh (Celebrant) A celebrant for eleven years now, Vanessa found herself entering the industry after being a stay at home mum of three boys when her husband was no longer able to work. After her trainer encouraged her to, Vanessa started doing funerals and found that she had a love for it. As she put it "Find an occupation you love and you will never work another day in your life". Growing up in Fairfield West and Endensor Park, before living for the last seventeen years in Prestons, Vanessa is a busy mum of four boys who loves on her down time to watch a good movie or get a massage, or as she explained spending time with her family and friends, who are her greatest support.

19.01.2022 Today is Cheer up the lonely day Loneliness is an inevitable part of life. For some people, it can be temporary, and for others it may be a daily struggle. Loneliness can affect the young and the old, and people from all walks of life. It can be harmful to the mental, physical, and social health of those suffering from it. This is especially true during a time like this, so remember to spread cheer in anyway you can.

19.01.2022 Wishing His Royal Highness Prince Philip a Happy 99th Birthday

18.01.2022 10th October 2020 is Mental Health Day This year’s World Mental Health Day, on 10 October, comes at a time when our daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The past months have brought many challenges: for health-care workers, providing care in difficult circumstances, going to work fearful of bringing COVID-19 home with them; for students, adapting to taking classes from home, with little contact with teachers and friends, and anxious abou...t their futures; for workers whose livelihoods are threatened; for the vast number of people caught in poverty or in fragile humanitarian settings with extremely limited protection from COVID-19; and for people with mental health conditions, many experiencing even greater social isolation than before. And this is to say nothing of managing the grief of losing a loved one, sometimes without being able to say goodbye. The economic consequences of the pandemic are already being felt, as companies let staff go in an effort to save their businesses, or indeed shut down completely. Given past experience of emergencies, it is expected that the need for mental health and psychosocial support will substantially increase in the coming months and years. Investment in mental health programmes at the national and international levels, which have already suffered from years of chronic underfunding, is now more important than it has ever been. This is why the goal of this year’s World Mental Health Day campaign is increased investment in mental health. (As written on WHO Website)

07.01.2022 On behalf of the team at Max Perrams Funerals, I am writing to let you know what were doing to prioritise your health and wellbeing when you use our services amidst concerns about COVID-19. At Max Perrams Funerals we take great care to provide excellent customer service & experience which includes the cleanliness of our chapel & facilities. To continue to provide an environment which is as safe as possible for visitors and our team, we have taken extra steps to clean and sa...nitise our facilities more frequently. Our team is being provided regular updates and information to keep themselves and their families safe, and we are reacting and adapting to the situation as it evolves. Were taking guidance from the Australian Government Department of Health on their recommended key preventative measures. We encourage our community to take the precautions needed to protect their health and that of others. As a global community we are all responsible to help stop the spread of the virus, and to show compassion to one another. The following summarises the precautions we are taking in response to COVID-19, and doing all we can to provide a clean and safe environment for our staff and clients: We will follow the advice of the government and not conduct funeral services (public gatherings) where the number of mourners are expected to exceed 10. We will encourage mourners to avoid handshakes, hugging and kissing as a form of physical condolence. We will monitor our staff and if they are showing symptoms of the virus, they will be asked to self-isolate and to be tested. Hand sanitiser and soap will be available throughout our premises and on all funerals (specifically at condolence register tables for use after each pen use). Bathrooms will continue be stocked with hand wash/soap and disposable hand towels. In our office, all door handles, phones, reception desks, water filters and common areas will be wiped with sanitisers regularly throughout the day. We will continue to provide our customers with great service and excellent outcomes in the weeks and months ahead. If you have any questions or would like to discuss how the situation might affect your specific funeral being held with Max Perrams Funerals, please contact our office on 9602 6175 so we can assist further. 07.01.2022 8th March is International Women's Day Mothers, sisters, wives, girlfriends and fiancees...... what would we ever do without them? Nobody can honestly say we don't owe an enormous amount to the women in our lives, from the mothers who made us chicken soup when we were sick as children, to the sister who helped us decide what to wear on our first date, to the wives who somehow manage to juggle both a career and a family, never missing a beat, this includes our own female staff at Max Perrams.

02.01.2022 A little update on our first little kitten found Maxi, who found his forever home with our Arranger Dianne. Dianne said he eats to much and is learning to walk on grass, which he doesn't particular like, at least for now.

02.01.2022 While some restrictions have eased, we should all still practice social distancing and good hand hygiene, especially coming into our flu season.

01.01.2022 A little update for everyone on the second kitten we found, little Cleo who our Arranger Jasmine decided to take home. Jasmine said she's a great eater (like her brother maxi) scoffing down her milk as quickly as she can. Jasmine also said she's become a bit of a WWE wrestle, running up and body slamming her toys but in this photo she looks like a little lady.

01.01.2022 ANZAC day this year might be different from any other we've experienced before with the cancelling of services and marches but we will never forget the sacrifice of those brave men and women who laid down their lives for us.
