15.01.2022 Bushfires are burning across the country but for the government it's "not the time" to talk about climate change. Alice Matthews agrees... kinda.

14.01.2022 Closer to Bairnsdale, daybreak revealed the true extent of the fire's destruction. More than 40 structures have been lost, and four people remain unaccounted for. #9News

11.01.2022 Thousands of NSW's Firefighters saw 2019 out wearing goggles and standing on the end of a fire hose. We captured just a few of their stories on the NSW South Co...ast. The man that was transported to hospital was later discharged and is apparently recovering. Our thoughts are with him and everyone who has been affected by these relentless bushfires. #PreparedForAnything #MoreThanFire #NSWFires #FRNSW #ProtectTheIrreplacable #frnswmedia

10.01.2022 The photo of Port Authority Police Officer Christopher Amoroso escorting victims from 9/11 out of the World Trade Center shortly before he went back into #2 Wor...ld Trade Center has been seen by millions. Lt. Colonel Dave Grossman (ret.) ends most of his talks with a picture of Chris and if you haven’t seen it in his presentation, then you need to. Here is part of it as shared from lawofficer.com: His name is Christopher Amoroso and at this point on that awful day the smoke and flames are so intense that they are coming down from those buildings in waves. People there tell me the media there never properly captured it. They are coming down from both towers. They are coming down from all four sides. Strangers were holding hands on their way down, comforting one another. It takes a long time to die from 90 floors up. Every second is filled with despair. The sky behind is filled with falling bodies. The air above them is filled with smoke and flames and the awful sound of those bodies hitting the sidewalk are echoing in his ears. Now do you understand why he looks like that? What makes him different from the other two? What’s he got to do that they don’t? He’s going back. He’s going to drop off the pregnant lady. He’s going to go up that building the fourth time. The building will fall and Christopher Amoroso will not come home to his wife and baby tonight. He will never come home again. Do you understand that nobody told him to go? Why does one man go up the steps again and again and again and again while thousands are coming down?

10.01.2022 #WeWillRememberThem As we as a nation pause to remember the fallen, please spare a thought for the families of those who served their country. Lest We Forget

07.01.2022 Glad to say that advice is just in from CO that MFS’s employees affected by the Cudlee Creek bushfire can apply for up to an additional 15 day’s leave under the public service Commissioner’s Determination. This leave is not otherwise available to our members. To apply for the leave or to convert leave already taken, you must direct an email to the CO thru your commander setting out the dates sought and reason for it. Our thoughts are with the UFU members and indeed ALL who ha...ve been affected by the fires. Specifically we hope this additional time will in a small way, assist MFS employees affected. There is much yet to be done of course, to properly resource our emergency services to meet current and future threats. Thank you to everyone involved in protecting our community and to all supporting them. We know that many firies are involved in both MFS and CFS and are working ceaselessly, though sadly not tirelessly, on the fire ground; to all firefighters out there, regardless of the uniform, you’re all amazing and words can not express our gratitude. Please take care and stay safe in what may be yet to come.

05.01.2022 A big thank you to the Hon Frances Bedford, hardworking independent MP for Florey, for your time and support for Firefighters Safety and Resourcing Campaign today. And also for the delicious cake!
