24.01.2022 At least one of my sides got up on the weekend. Up the mighty Melbourne Storm . Against such adversity what a remarkable premiership - they continue to prove their the greatest sporting club in Australia.

24.01.2022 Imagine the Grand Final Parade today in Melbourne with two Victoria sides playing - the CBD would be buzzing. Cafes and Bars would be packed. Everyone would be pumped ready for tomorrow’s big clash. Sam Simpson and Gary Ablett junior could of revisited this iconic photo. Hope everyone who has been working hard over this tough time enjoys their day off today. Can’t wait for tomorrow night.

24.01.2022 Like to get other people’s views on this but what’s happened to the almighty Channel 7 Football broadcast team? It’s got to the point now I mute it and sync my TV to either KRock (Cats Games) or AFL Nation. I grew up in the 90’s and early 2000’s when the station had a wide host of excellent callers. Bruce McAvaney, Dennis C, Drew Morphett, Ian Robertson, Sandy Roberts, Anthony Hudson, Peter McKenna, Kevin Bartlett and even Rex Hunt. But now....... Bruce has had a wonderful ...career - but clearly he really struggles these days. I do think he will hang up the mic straight after the Olympics next year. BT - struggles to get players right and incorrectly pronounces their names. Hamish - Is a fantastic presenter, but calling isn’t his strength. Luke Darcy - Well..... JB and Jason Bennett are the stations two best assets yet are mainly used as subs. Fox Footy has the best selection of TV callers - surely they don’t pay more than Channel 7? There are so so many young talented Footballer callers out there that would give their left nut at a chance at the position. Is it time Channel 7 start to reach out and recruit that talent?

23.01.2022 Time for a Captaincy change at the Cattery? I think it’s the perfect time for Joel Selwood - who has been such a fantastic warrior for the club to hand over the reigns of the skipper hood to Tom Stewart for next season and just purely focus on his footy in his last couple of seasons. Tom last night showed he can handle the big situations - he shows all the qualities of being a leader, hell he made the All Australian side in just his second season at AFL. He will flourish as the captain and all with Joel being their in the background helping him along the way. . It worked in 07 when Tom Harley took over .

20.01.2022 Big weekend ahead in the Blake household. Go Cats Go Storm Absolutely fantastic stuff from the AFL & NRL to produce a full season under the trying circumstances. It’s definitely been a great distraction during these tough times.

18.01.2022 What can you say about this guy? I remember being at KP in his first season. Never before and never since had i witness our home crowd all unite as one in excitement every time he went near the ball. He walked into the GFC with enormous expectations - we walked out absolutely smashing them out of the park. He had his famous dads name on his shoulders - but he completely made it his own. Took the advise of his team mates about becoming our superstar and became a megastar. He l...eft, then returned, he left the hub and didn’t have to return but he did, he hurt his shoulder...badly but yet returned on the ground. Just take a minute to think about the fact that arguably the best player to ever play the game had a son who went on to become arguably the best player to ever play the game. There's no argument for me. Gary Ablett is the GOAT and his only competition is his son/dad .

15.01.2022 All the best to one of my favourites. Nakia Cockatoo - it was a shame he couldn’t reach his potential at the GFC with an endless bad luck list of injuries - I hope he flourishes at the Lions. I’ll definitely will be barracking for him (Not when he is playing against Geelong) it’s time now for Geelong to officially rest the #5 jumper.

15.01.2022 Who’d thought under the extreme circumstances we’d get our first all Victorian AFL Grand Final since 2011. Credit to both Geelong and Richmond who through enormous adversity in season 2020 both proved what fantastic clubs they are. 100+ days away from home and still were able to get the job done when other clubs completely fell apart in the hub. Hopefully Dan Andrews rocks up to his presser today wearing Cats and Tigers scarf with Victorian Pride .

02.01.2022 One of my favourite Grand Final traditions is grabbing a copy of the AFL Record. I have every GF edition since 1996 with also the 1994 and 1992 editions. I’m aiming to grow it with past copies - if anyone out there is wanting to off load some get in touch. Would love some from the 80’s. Thanks
