19.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com/100007789936332/posts/2548640635405576/ Very interesting read, lets get more vets involved in this diagnostic for ECVM.

19.01.2022 Sometimes the best thing we can do is move the horse on to a more fulfilling life to relieve the fear and find a more suited companion we can enjoy. I have seen clients experience this situation and the sale of said horse was the best for both of them! https://www.facebook.com/249998641755449/posts/3337484969673452/

17.01.2022 The hyoid comes up so often. Remember most bits are metal so be kind with your hands. Too often I see riders snagging at mouths, how would you respond? Hyoid issues among other changes affect the range of motion of the horses hind leg. https://www.google.com/url

17.01.2022 Cadence equine - maxine Corry-thomas I am taking extra hygiene precautions in the interest of my client and animals with additional hand sanitiser and washing. Also the use of anti viral essential oils will be in place at any clinic for additional resistance and protection. Please if you or anyone in your household/workplace show any symptoms of COVID -19 or COLD/FLU please advise me before your appointment and seek advice from the Corona Virus helpline 1800 020 080.... There is always a way to make the appointment happen and most of your horses know me well enough. Similarly if I or any close family member has symptoms we would need to isolate and you would be notified. Thank you for supporting us through these disturbing times. Maxine. Xx

11.01.2022 Fascinating read.

10.01.2022 Being a big kid and fooling around! When our horses are young they maintain full range of motion from poll to cervical spine. Allowing horses to feed from high hay nets mimics browsing behaviour, in combination with grazing this enable the horse to mobilise their cervical spine into the thoracic and paraspinals creating fluidity of movement and releasing tension as well as effortless rehabilitation.... Especially important if your horses live in individual paddocks, cannot mutually groom which causes stress in their environment and lack of movement. Environment and natural behaviour in feeding and grooming and play are essential.

09.01.2022 We are still treating horses during covid. Animal care is essential and this lady certainly appreciated her time to rest and recover today. Although my mask is always a point of much nuzzling and interest.

06.01.2022 Short of time? Not many poles? Both? Here is a really simple layout using only 3 poles - it's quick to set up, there are no distances to worry about measuri...ng out and there are still plenty of ways to use it. Depending on your goals and stage of training or rehabilitation, you can try these polework exercises either in-hand, long reining or ridden and in walk, trot or canter. Start with the poles flat on the floor, then progress to raising one end of each pole as shown in image 4. Although we have only shown the raised poles in one image here, raised poles would be suitable in all of the ideas shown here. You can also use the poles to provide guidance and direction when practicing simple lateral movements, as shown in image 5. #polework #poleworkinspo #horse #horsesofinstagram #pony #poniesofinstagram #horserider #horseridersofinstagram #horselovers #ilovemyhorse #equestrian #equine #equestriansport #equestrianlife #sport #fitness #training #progress #practicemakesprogress #dressage #showjumping #eventing #crosscountry #showing #motivation #newideas #sundayfunday See more

04.01.2022 When you have exhausted all other avenues with veterinary work up on your horse, and something has just never been quite right. What can you do? As an integrated therapist I work closely with veterinarians and herbalists-for the best outcome for your horse. ... But most importantly I’ll be honest and refer for further veterinary diagnostics so we have science based evidence to guide the treatment. Often a horse has a fall we don’t see, or a slip off the float or a run back in a cross tie. And over time changes and discomfort set in with cause musculoskeletal changes and compensation. This includes the need to check also for gelding scars. You the owner know your horse the best. Using a qualified integrated therapist means this. I am qualified in musculoskeletal bodywork, I have over 20 years professional experience. I work with veterinarians and clients together. Why ? So you the client trust the advice and treatment. But more importantly so your horse receives the best care possible. Sometimes when we have exhausted the use of clinical treatment natural therapies become the source of treatment to support the body to recover from, shock, trauma and inflammation. This is why I recommend and work closely with McDowell’s herbals.

03.01.2022 Wormin your horses! Be careful of the dangers to dogs that like to eat their poo! https://www.facebook.com/508496396016540/posts/1410423179157186/

02.01.2022 Such an amazing year with unforeseen opportunities. Working as an independent therapist, with the most amazing clients and their horses. Congratulations on all your successes and wins!... Many thanks go out to the teams of vets and specialists in rehabilitation for working with me on more complex cases. I am thankful for the new contracts in 2019 and look forward to supporting your professional teams of horses in 2020. Cadence equine has had many great opportunities this year and with further studies. I will continue to be current in treatment methodologies and research theories. The most important person involved in any treatment and rehabilitation plan is you the client and your commitment to ensure your horse feels the beest they can be. Many thanks Maxine@cadence equine integrated therapies
