25.01.2022 Today at Maxima we are reflecting on the marvelous opportunity the members of Mowanjum offer visitors to the Mowanjum Festival. Here are some snaps of the Ochre Artists Workshops Maxima proudly sponsors. Learn how to prepare ochre paint, then paint your storyline and share in the stories of Elders and children of Mowanjum. 24.01.2022 A commercial tropical rock oyster industry in the Pilbara is another step closer today. More than 30,000 juvenile oysters arrived in Karratha from the Perth hatchery this week and today we took them out to their new home, two new oyster farm trial sites off the Pilbara coast, where they will grow to marketable size over the next 18 months. It was great to take our project partners and regional stakeholders on a trip out to the West Lewis site today to mark this major project ...milestone. Thanks to the City of Karratha and Pilbara Development Commission for their ongoing support, and to the FRDC for supporting the original R&D project. #maximaopportunity #aquaculture #tropicalrockoysters #pilbara #development #regionaldevelopment #innovation

22.01.2022 Our new rock oyster research trial site at Cossack in the Pilbara region is up and running. At high tide, the equipment and oysters will not be visible from the surface so if you are in the area please look out for the yellow buoys that mark the boundary of the site. Any interaction with the equipment may result in damage to your vessel or to the oysters. Remember, it is an offence under the Fish Resources Management Act 1994 to interfere with aquaculture equipment The W...A Tropical Rock Oyster Research and Development project is led by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development - DPIRD and supported by the CRCNA, Maxima the Opportunity Group, Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation, the Albany multispecies shellfish hatchery and gear suppliers Hexcyl Systems, SEAPA and Zapco Aquaculture. #maxima #creatingopportunity #aquaculture #tropicalrockoysters #pilbara #westernaustralia #development #regionaldevelopment #innovation

22.01.2022 Congratulations Leah from the Hutton’s

22.01.2022 It has been a big year for us with a major expansion of the rock oyster trial in the north west, another cracking pearl harvest and our continued community investment program. None of this would have been possible without our partners across communities, Traditional Owner groups, all levels of Government, industry, and business. We are taking a quick break and our office will be closed from Friday 18 December 2020. We will reopen on Monday 4 January 2021 and are looking forw...ard to an even bigger 2021. From all the team at Maxima, we wish you a safe, healthy and happy festive season.

22.01.2022 All the best to those who are looking to be drafted.

21.01.2022 Oysters are great for the environment as they filter the surrounding water and use the minerals to grow their shell. It’s also what makes them taste so great! Pristine locations, such as the Dampier Archipelago in the Pilbara, make the perfect spot for growing these tasty shellfish. #maxima #creatingopportunity #oysters #aquaculture #westernaustralia #pilbara #kimberley

20.01.2022 From this to this! In just three months since entering the water at our Pilbara trial sites our baby oysters have shown extraordinary growth. This is a great early indication of a strong growth rate and supports the findings of the first phase of the trial. 02.01.2022 More media and edible oyster excitement

01.01.2022 Exciting results come from a recent collection of Cone Bay Black Lipped Rock Oyster - Saccostrea cucullata Type J broodstock. Broodstock were transported to DPIRD facility at Hillary's Research Centre mid November and spawned within a fortnight. It is all part of the CRC for Developing Northern Australia Rock Oyster Research Project that Maxima ... partners in. They still have a long road ahead to get back to Cone Bay they are still only one tenth of a mm long. They have to settle and continue growing until they are about 5mm long before they are sent back up there. However it is an exciting development and means the project will not be reliant on natural collection/ settlement of baby oyster spat. Maxima Pearling has over 30 years Pearling, aquaculture farming, research and development experience within Cone Bay and the Kimberley. The company also joint ventures in edible rock oyster grow out trials on the Burrup Penninsula. Go to: http://www.maximaopportunity.com.au/

01.01.2022 Congratulations to the people of Nullagine.
