25.01.2022 Lead by example. Spend 1-2 hours outside each day with your family.

25.01.2022 A day on the golf course is a day well spent. Bob is certainly up to par in his Drivewear lens from CR Surfacing, the fabulous Australian owned and Australian made lens company. Transitions Drivewear lenses change from a shade of green/yellow, to a copper shade, to a dark reddish-brown colour depending on the amount of light. In low light and overcast conditions Transitions Drivewear lenses are a green/yellow colour to provide high contrast and maximize useful light informati...on reaching the eye. When exposed to visible light, the lens changes to a copper colour, which many drivers find is the most comfortable colour for driving. This is not surprising, as the Transitions Drivewear lens colour was designed to both remove excess light and provide good traffic signal recognition, highlighting the reds and greens. The copper colour can also provide improved depth perception. Outdoors, Transitions Drivewear lenses are activated by both UV and visible light and change to a dark reddish-brown colour. This colour was designed for superior filtration of excess light and to provide increased protection from bright light. The brown colour of the lens enables excellent colour recognition with a special emphasis on highlighting greens. Because green is the most common colour in the natural landscape, these lenses provide a great visual experience and are the natural lens choice for golfers. Have a great game Bob. #crsurfacing #transitiondrivewear #golfpro #vilbrequin #northernbeacheslocal #qualityeyewear #manlybeach #northbridgegolfclub #balgowlahgolfclub #manlygolfclub #connecting #supportlocalbusiness See more

17.01.2022 T'was a week before Christmas, And all through the town, People wore masks, That covered their frown. The frown had begun... Way back in the Spring, When a global pandemic Changed everything. They called it corona, But unlike the beer, It didn’t bring good times, It didn’t bring cheer. Airplanes were grounded, Travel was banned. Borders were closed Across air, sea and land. As the world entered lockdown To flatten the curve, The economy halted, And folks lost their nerve. From March to July We rode the first wave, People stayed home, They tried to behave. When summer emerged The lockdown was lifted. But away from caution, Many folks drifted. Now it’s December And cases are spiking, Wave two has arrived, Much to our disliking. It’s true that this year Has had sadness a plenty, We’ll never forget The year 2020. And just ‘round the corner - The holiday season, But why be merry? Is there even one reason? To decorate the house And put up the tree, Who will see it, No one but me. But outside my window The rain gently falls, And I think to myself, Let’s deck the halls! So, I gather the ribbon, The garland and bows, As I play those old carols, My happiness grows. Christmas is not cancelled And neither is hope. If we lean on each other, I know we can cope Keep it going! (Copy&Paste) Anon See more

10.01.2022 Are you often on two devices at once? Jane spends many hours multitasking, reading on her iPad and keeping in touch on her phone. Max insisted on blue light protection for her recent glasses. It is so important when you are on computers and devices for much of the day as Jane has been, laying low since the pandemic began. Her multifocals are in a beautiful Betty Barclay frame and she is giving them a great run at near in this shot. Keep safe Jane

10.01.2022 Binocular indirect ophthalmoscope doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue so let’s just call it a BIO. Tash is using it to inspect the fundus or back of the eye. It produces an stereoscopic image with between 2x and 5x magnification. It is valuable for diagnosis and treatment of retinal tears, holes, and detachments. Thanks Tash #eyeexam #yourhealth #eyeexamsarefun... #binocularindirectophthalmoscopy See more

10.01.2022 Summer is here so it’s easy to incorporate leafy green vegetables into our diet for our eye health and overall well-being Experts say we should eat one handful of raw leafy green vegetables daily and half cup of cooked three times a week. They are full of lutein, zeaxanthin, Vit C, Vit E, beta-carotene, zinc and fibre. Kale smoothies and kale chips are great ways to encourage the whole family. Stay healthy, stay safe #nutrition

09.01.2022 Who knew? Champagne is surprisingly good for you! I spent yesterday researching and will spend tonight testing my findings It's low-calorie. While a glass of red or white wine contains between 135 and 200 calories, a glass of brut (dry) champagne clocks in at only 95 It prevents dementia and memory loss. A study at the University of Reading determined that drinking one to three glasses of champagne each week can boost brain health. The study was done on rats, half of w...hom were served champagne every day for six weeks (nice life for a rat, right?). The rats were tasked with completing a maze, and while the sober rats had an average success rate of 50 percent, the bubbly drinkers had a 70 percent success rate It's good for your skin. "Champagne detoxifies the skin with antioxidants, and its lightening tartaric acid helps even out the skin tone," says dermatologist Marina Peredo. "For those with oily skin, its antibacterial properties [help with] breakouts." It's a heart-healthy beverage. In fact, it's just as good for your heart as red wine. Another University of Reading study concluded that "two glasses of champagne a day may be good for your heart and circulation and could reduce the risks of suffering from cardiovascular disease and stroke." It boosts your mood We all know the buoyant feeling that you get from a sip of champagne this is due to the magnesium, potassium and zinc it contains. It can increase your sex drive It’s well known that alcohol makes people lose their inhibitions. Most alcoholic drinks will give you a momentary buzz but then leave you with little energy and the lack of blood flow you need for arousal. Champagne, on the other hand, allows you to feel its effects much quicker without sapping your energy. It can lower your risk of diabetes A 2009 study in Canada showed that all wines, including sparklers like champagne, can lower your risk of contracting diabetes by 13 per cent. It may actually help you drink less in the long run. Champagne and other effervescent drinks have been shown to make people drink slower and feel full more quickly. So as you raise a glass tonight, remember the health benefits of drinking bubbles Happy New Year from the team at maximeyes See more
