24.01.2022 Got my name on my clinic room door here at Sportsmed now

23.01.2022 Thank you everyone for your patience over the last 5 weeks, while I have been temporarily closed for business due to the Covid-19 situation. On April 24th, the South Australian government updated the business restrictions, to confirm that Remedial Massage & Myotherapy services provided in a clinical or health care setting are deemed essential services & may continue. Therefore I am pleased to announce that I will be commencing treatments again very soon. ... Before I do commence, with extra precautions in place, our clinic has planned renovations (painting, re-carpeting, sanitisation) happening this week prior to re-opening. At this stage the clinic has an expected, not yet confirmed, start date between May 8th-11th. I understand some of you are eager to get straight back in & there may be some still weary, & we totally understand your position, especially if you are in the vulnerable/high risk category. Your health is our top priority, & we have worked hard to put things in place. My already comprehensive cleaning & infection control measures adhere to the Government guidelines on COVID-19. I have also completed the governments Infection Control Training -Covid 19. Furthermore, we have a range of enhanced measures in place, including extra cleaning, client screening, social distancing & minimised waiting room numbers. As I know more I will start to contact you, if I havent already done so & try to get everyone booked in to their usual spots, however, days/hours of availability will be subject to initial demand. Please bare with me whilst we navigate this unusual situation. I will be in touch with you with further updates & a confirmed start date of re-opening very soon. And please be assured that if you have any questions, or would like to tentatively book an appointment, please contact me

23.01.2022 Last minute cancellations now available this week: Message me or call Sportsmed directly on 81301110 to book one of these in *Edit- Today (Mon 24th) no longer available

22.01.2022 Hi all! I hope you are keeping well & enjoying the lovely weather lately. I haven’t posted too much on here lately as I’ve been pretty busy since moving locations, but I can always be reached here regarding booking enquiries. Given the current Covid-19 situation here again in South Australia (it’s like déjà vu), if you are feeling unwell (cold & flu-like symptoms) please reschedule your appointment time & get tested. The front desk staff have begun temperature checking everyone as you check-in for your appointments again. Thank you for your understanding at this current time

22.01.2022 What a wonderful response to my first week back! Thank you to all of my clients who have returned & filled my calendar already. Ive hit the ground running, busy, but very much appreciated. Thank you for your support! There are unfortunately no availabilities left for this week, but keep an eye on the page for any last minute cancellations

22.01.2022 Understanding Migraine Headaches Migraine is more than just a headache. Anyone who has ever suffered from the misery of a migraine will tell you that they can be anything from unsettling & uncomfortable to downright incapacitating. Not all people who experience migraines will get the classic headache & some people dont experience the headache every time. Because a migraine headache is considered a primary headache, because there is no apparent underlying condition tha...t could be causing it, they can be hard to treat. What Is a Migraine Headache? A migraine headache is more of a condition than just a headache. Migraine headaches are typically very severe & can come with additional symptoms like dizziness, nausea & even loss of speech & sight which can be extremely frightening. In some people, they are accompanied by sight disturbances & other neurological symptoms that doctors call the migraine aura. Sometimes, in a migraine with aura, there is no headache or it can be averted with painkillers at the aura stage, but in other cases the classic migraine headache can be blindingly painful, lasting anything from 20 minutes to a couple of days. Some people who experience sudden, severe, or recurrent migraines will need to be seen by a doctor & examined for other possible conditions, but in most cases migraines just have to be managed & treated as there is no cure & often no obvious triggers. As migraine can sometimes be associated with other more severe conditions, if you have what you think is a migraine for the first time, you should seek advice from a medical professional. How long can a migraine last? Migraines are notorious for sticking around a long time. Some migraines only last for a few hours but if youre unlucky enough to suffer from severe, prolonged migraines they can last for several days. Sometimes, the migraine sufferer will experience neurological symptoms before, during, & afterwards, including strange floating lights & auras. They might also experience these symptoms between bouts of pain. What causes migraines? Although the exact cause of migraine headaches is not known, most studies think theres a genetic link thats exacerbated by other triggers. Migraines tend to run in families & are usually hereditary. Some people can be set off by very strong smells, certain foods, heat, or bright lights. How do you treat a migraine? This is something you might want to discuss with your doctor, but there are options available for managing migraines. Many people turn to medication, understandably. Massage therapy can help to reduce the number of migraines in sufferers a 2006 study of migraine sufferers showed that people who had massages experienced fewer migraines & slept better during the weeks they had massages, although it was a small study. You may have to try several different treatment options before discovering the best one for you.

15.01.2022 Your shoulder is made up of many bones, tendons and muscles that all serve different functions, and stress or tension in them can develop into shoulder pain. Th...e severity of shoulder pain varies depending on where or how it began, and it can limit your range of motion, disrupt your sleep, and make it difficult for you to engage in everyday activities. While the method used to treat shoulder pain will vary depending on the cause, in most cases massage therapy has been shown to effectively treat and prevent shoulder pain. Read on to find out more.

15.01.2022 ... Prior to you attending your remedial massage treatment (until further notice)... I will have a digital Covid-19 Self-Declaration form that will be sent to you the day prior to your treatment, along with your reminder message. It must be sent back before you can enter the clinic (its super quick & easy, & only comes back to me). A paper form will be available to those without access to a mobile/tablet device. ... We have reduced waiting room numbers to just 2 clients at a time. Its unlikely, but if you happen to turn up with 2 already waiting, please use the chair provided outside (weather permitting) or wait in your car please, until it is ok to enter. Please attend your appointment alone, where possible. I will check your temperature too upon arrival. Apart from a few additional measures weve put in place, Im very excited to have you back

14.01.2022 Getting Deep into your Fascia You might have heard your massage therapist talking about working on your fascia & connective tissues ever wondered what they were talking about? Fascia is another name for the fibrous connective tissues that you have all over your body. There are three main types of fascia; superficial fascia which is mostly found in the skin, deep fascia which surrounds your muscles, bones, nerves & blood vessels; & visceral fascia which is mostly associated ...Continue reading

12.01.2022 What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage? Manual Lymphatic Drainage is also referred to as Manual Lymphatic Massage. Manual Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmical massage treatment performed by a specially trained lymphatic massage therapist to stimulate the circulation of lymph fluid around the body. This helps to rapidly speed up the removal of waste from a sluggish lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage can also aid in the prevention of swelling after injury or surgery. It is ...Continue reading

11.01.2022 Due to the sudden Covid lockdown announcement, the clinic is closing tomorrow & all bookings will be cancelled until further notice (hopefully for only the 6days) Those of you who are booked within this time period I have already messaged, but will keep everyone up to date when the lock down ends. 10.01.2022 CLINIC CLOSED effective 25-3-2020 It is with heavy hearts that we close our massage clinic for the foreseeable future. Throughout this ever changing COVID-19 crisis we have continued to stay up to date with the very latest government, SA health & professional bodies guidelines to ensure the safety of our clients, their families, ourselves & our families, along with the wider community. We feel we are no longer able to work within the very strict restrictions & it has now beco...me unsafe for us to continue to offer our services, the services we so very much love & will miss providing during this time. Our thoughts are with all of you, our valued & much loved clients, please take solace, look after yourself & your family during this period. Please continue along your self care plan as actively as the current climate enables. Stretch, breathe, walk, hydrate, rest & contact me if you need guidance or advice on your care. We may be hands OFF but we are very much here for you & your health. Never fear, we will get through this & as soon as it is deemed safe to do so, we will be back in action & very well rested. Much love & kindness to you all, Zoe

10.01.2022 Trying to stay as up-to-date & be as informed as possible, so my clients & their families are safe!

10.01.2022 . This is crucial now more than ever, during this unprecedented time of social distancing. In recent years, society as a whole has changed its view of physical touch. Weve decided that hugging someone or patting them on the back simply isnt ok. Although that may be true when the person on the receiving end of it isnt happy about being touched, its also become the case between close frie...Continue reading

09.01.2022 Lets talk Coronavirus (Covid-19) It is a hot topic at the moment, but I want you to know what that means for you & your treatment. As you know, theres a great deal of information, & confusion about the nature & scope of COVID-19 or the coronavirus. Because of the physical/close nature of my work with my clients, I am using this time to review & continue to follow the Sanitation & Hygiene Policy I have in place, including frequent, thorough hand washing & frequent clea...ning of all surface areas. Given the recent government recommendations & restrictions regarding Coronavirus, including a 2wk isolation for any traveller/citizen entering/returning to Australia, heres what needs to happen: Any client (or therapist) that has recently returned from overseas, or disembarked from a cruiseship must not attend the clinic for 14 days. Please self-isolate & reschedule your appointment..FREE of charge. It is your obligation to pass this information on to us. If you develop symptoms (fever, a cough, sore throat, tiredness or shortness of breath), please reschedule. You should arrange to see your doctor for urgent assessment. If you have been in close proximity with anyone who meets the above criteria, please reschedule. Easy enough right? So what else can we do? Well, as per the government recommendations, practising good hand & sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence against most viruses. Which means: wash your hands frequently with soap & water, before & after eating, & after going to the toilet cover your cough & sneeze in your elbow, dispose of tissues, & use alcohol-based hand sanitiser, & if unwell, avoid contact with others (stay more than 1.5 metres away from people). I have alcohol-based hand sanitisers in all areas of the clinic..the waiting room, each clinic room, staff room & bathroom. Can ALL clients please use this upon arriving & exiting the clinic. I will not be closing clinic, unless otherwise indicated, & I will be continuing to support you all as usual. I have cancelled my own personal overseas travel plans, not only for my own health, but for yours as well. I will continue to review the advice from the Commonwealth & State Departments of Health & act on that advice if & when needed. Your health always has & always will be my priority. Its times like this that we need the stress relief & outlet that not just Hilltop Natural Therapies, but massage brings. Im sure you will understand these decisions are in the best interest of all clients & myself. If you have any concerns at all or wish to discuss this information, I am happy to do so. I will continue to operate best hygiene practices within my clinic.

08.01.2022 To my valued clients, During this time of uncertainty, my clinic will remain open until directed by our government. -Any client that has recently returned to South Australia (international or domestic) must not attend the clinic for 14days. Please self-isolate & reschedule your appointment. It is your obligation to pass this information on to me.... -If you have cold or flu like symptoms, please reschedule. -If you have been in close proximity with anyone who meets the above criteria, please reschedule. I have taken extra measures in the clinic to minimise the risk & continue to offer my services. These next few weeks are crucial in preventing widespread illness, so please practice washing your hands & social distancing. I have removed some chairs from my waiting room to accomodate the new social-distancing recommendations. I have also removed all magazines & flyers from this space also. I please ask that my clients do not arrive early for your appointment, if you do can you please wait in your vehicle until your scheduled time. I will have hand sanitiser for you to use upon entering the clinic. As this is such a trivial time, I will keep you informed immediately of any changes. Until then, keep healthy, happy & safe

07.01.2022 - You will have heard us talking about how important it is to have a self-care routine a lot in the past well although you might not be able to include your regular massage & skincare appointments in your regular routine at the moment, you can still find ways to take care of yourself in these difficult weeks & months, so that when you come out the other side of isolation & you will you wont be completely depleted. - ...Continue reading

05.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day all!

04.01.2022 I had the pleasure tonight to be invited along as a remedial massage therapist, now part of the Sportsmed physiotherapy team, to a conference held at Stepney. Speakers Dr Scott Graf (Rheumatologist) & Matthew Beard (Physiotherapist) presented a talk on Axial Spondyloarthropathy (ankylosing spondylitis)...say that 3 times real fast & although I have previously seen a client diagnosed with this condition, the in-depth information tonight was not only really informative but fascinating. Another plus is these conferences/talks are of no cost to myself, & I receive continuing education points for attending (which Im required to obtain yearly, usually for lots of $$ to maintain my massage association/provider status) & they fed me Things like this make me realise I made the right decision to join this team

03.01.2022 Here's my availabilities left for this week: Contact me on 0400930436 or Sportsmed directly on 81301222 to book this in
