And your employer has both the legal right and the legal obligation ...to keep all staff safe. 15.01.2022 What should I do if I have been bullied at work? 1. Consult your General Practitioner and provide a detailed history of the bullying and harassment at work which resulted in your psychiatric injury, and how it is impacting you now. Your GP can also provide you with a referral to a psychologist or psychiatrist and issue a Certificate of Capacity. 2. Report your psychiatric injury to your employer as soon as possible, and the impact it is having on your psychological health.... 3. Submit a WorkCover Claim. You must complete this form and provide it to your employer to forward on to their insurer. The WorkCover insurer should take no more than 28 days to determine your claim. In the event that your claim is rejected by the WorkCover insurer, you should dispute the decision at Accident Compensation Conciliation Services. It is important that you also obtain legal advice. 12.01.2022 What is on everyone's New Year's Resolutions list this year? What's on ours, you ask? Mindfulness. Not only will mindfulness help you achieve your other resolutions, but it will make you feel happier, more positive, and more productive... and who couldn't benefit from those things?... In fact, science has shown the benefits of mindfulness extend not only to improved well-being, mental and physical health, better sleep, reduced stress but also to an improved level of happiness. Mindfulness also helps us to develop an awareness of our internal state and the feelings that are driving our behavior. It allows us the space and time to sit with difficult feelings and make deliberate choices toward more helpful behavior. So, if mindfulness isn't already on your goals for 2021, then we highly suggest adding it! P.S. We hope you all have a wonderful and safe New Year's celebration - and we will see you next year.

11.01.2022 We are forever indebted to these souls and take oath to stand by their courageous act forever and after.

10.01.2022 Thank you Margie for your wonderful testimonial. We are thrilled with the outcome. After nearly 11 years since sustaining his back injury, our client Mike can finally move forward. I met Mike’s sister just over two years ago and she told me about how poorly her brother had been treated by his Workcover insurer. He had undergone six operations and was in a terrible way. She told me he couldn’t sleep because the insurer would not approve funding of an orthopaedic chair or mattr...ess, and his surgery had also been rejected. We fought the insurer to get funding for his chair and even involved the CEO of Worksafe regarding the insurer’s delays in granting approval of surgery. Yesterday we finalised Mike’s damages proceedings with him being awarded a sizeable sum of money. Whilst no amount of money can take away his suffering, he was comforted by the fact that he can finally move on. In the words of his sister, Margie, his life is about to ‘be a normal one’. The outcome is a timely reminder of the power we have as personal injury lawyers to make a difference.

Last year we were engaged by a client whose husband tragically took his own life at work. We recently resolved the matter, achieving a successful outcome for our client. Whilst no amount of money can bring back her loving husband, we are pleased that this settlement will assist her in some way. Her words below are a timely reminder of why we do what we do.
