24.01.2022 Before the taxi zone submission, I checked in on the neighbours Everything Filipino Foods- Bundaberg East to see how they felt. At the same time I asked about the random T-bollard out front of the shop. Turned out their driveway access was being blocked by vehicles parking there (not taxis). I let Council know about the problem, the area was painted at the same time as the taxi zone and Nerissa is very happy. Thank you BRC.

22.01.2022 Check what’s planned for parks in your area by viewing the Parks & Open Space Strategy 2019-2026. Laurisen Park upgrade is a bit of a way off, but replacing the dilapidated sign earlier was doable. Keep Div 9 looking good. https://www.bundaberg.qld.gov.au//parks-and-open-space-str

22.01.2022 Invitations to community organisation events and meetings are frequent. One of my first was the Bundaberg & District Neighbourhood Centre AGM last year. Attending that AGM resulted in volunteering on a weekly basis as a tutor for their Literacy Matters program. I love doing it. Friendly staff and tutors helping happy, motivated students. National Volunteers Week 17-21 May 2021 was celebrated at the centre on Thursday.

11.01.2022 Bicycle Queensland's Director of Advocacy Andrew Demack was a guest at the Bundaberg Regional Council’s Cycle Reference Group meeting earlier this week. The gr...oup has three Councillors on it, three representatives of the local cycling community, representatives from the State Departments for Sport and Recreation, Transport and Main Roads, and also support from staff of Bundaberg Regional Council. It’s a collaborative group that has some runs on the board in making Bundaberg a more cycle-friendly region. Andrew presented opportunities for BQ to partner with Council on cycling education and events, and support for the Council’s proposed new Active Transport Strategy. #BQ #BundabergRegionalCouncil #BicycleQueensland
