20.01.2022 Turns out you can polish a turd. Your imagination is the only limit in my jewellery classes. A great result with an incredible collection of rings that include sapphires collected from Tasmanian rivers, knuckle busters that look like Tasmanian crocoite, or talisman styled pendants and earrings. 18.01.2022 Some exciting news. I am very humbled and proud to be one of the 25 artists, amongst a group of very talented and creative Tasmanian women artists, chosen for the Women’s art prize Tasmania. A big thank you to the beautiful model Ruth who just made my jewellery piece sing. What a stunner. This piece is a continuation of my theme of work exploring currency. The work is made from 24ct gold $50 Australian notes in the form of a wreath. The leaves are shaped on the Tasmanian Blackwood wattle.

15.01.2022 Before and after. It’s incredible how worn jewellery can be transformed into new jewellery with the history still imbedded into the materials.

14.01.2022 A sneaky peak of my entry to the #yorkbotanicartprize #wildflowersocietywa with @gallery152 the exhibition opens November the 2nd. Make sure you check out @gallery152 for the incredible artists involved. This piece is based on the Australian Sandpaper wattle - Acacia denticulosa, a stunning acacia with bright tubes of yellow flowers. Dwelling high in the branches of the wattle, alongside the birds and bees, feasting on fragrant yellow blossom is an unexpected resident the... ant. The ant and wattle have a symbiotic relationship and both benefit in many ways. The ants perform a vital role in the survival of wattles. Ants bring the seed back to their nests, chew off part of it and feed it to their larvae. They then dump the seed in their nest or bury it in their refuse pile. But although the ant has finished with the seed, by dragging it underground, the ant has placed the seed in a perfect environment for germination. Inside the nest, it is dark, safe from predators, moist and naturally fertilized. #natureisbeautiful #natureisamazing #sandpaperwattle #ants #antsofinstagram #Acaciadenticulosa #acacia #wattleseed #wattle See more

04.01.2022 How beautiful is dendritic agate. This is a piece I made recently for someone who loved my older work. I have a huge collection agate in so many colours and forms. This one reminds me of a misty day in Tasmania, that feeling of calm and stillness, everything in soft focus, Tasmanian gothic at its best. #dendriticagate #tasdesigned #tasmade #tasmaniangothic

04.01.2022 Toi et moi ring - Meaning you and me in French, refers to a ring with two gems that sit side by side or close to each other, symbolising two souls becoming one. Most famously In 1796, Napoleon Bonaparte, at the time a revolutionary soldier in the French army, proposed to Josephine de Beauharnais with a diamond and blue sapphire toi et moi ring. She married him a mere three weeks later, but Napoleon’s family were fiercely against the union. An at-the-time shocking six year...s older than him, Josephine was also a widow with two children from her previous marriage. But the future Emperor of France was smitten, and it was a love story that has gone down in history as one of the most passionate of all time. This platinum and white sapphire and Tasmanian blue pear sapphire ring was made to order and looks stunning on her. I think I have to make a couple more as I love the idea #toietmoiring #toietmoi #tasmaniansapphire #rainyday #tasdesigned

02.01.2022 Thank you, I love it, fits and looks perfect, feels really comfortable on, can’t wait to show it off Nell. This was a fun and challenging piece, using 9ct yellow gold and peridots. The design was to match a beautiful pearl ring, so we went with a ocean style design. I think it matches perfectly with her ring, best of all I designed it to be comfortable for every day wear.
