21.01.2022 Some good suggestions here! Certainly the OTAs want us to give - they send me (NO CHOICE) emails every other day saying they will not allow us to penalise guests wanting to cancel because of the disasters. (Not that I would anyway ... but I certainly would not be paying commissions to the OTAs on any of those bookings, either - and, to be fair, they wont charge me!) But yes, where are their generous donations?

Please do not send our money overseas by booking online with the usual online agents that advertise on TV and are always at the top of your online search. They are not Australian. These companies charge our Australian motels 1...2-30% commission on your booking. Please take a moment to search for the direct contact details for the motel you want. Please be aware that the big, well known online companies charge the little Mum and Dad accommodation businesses in Australia between 15%-25% comm...ission. These huge corporations are not Australian.
