12.01.2022 Important members update, Due to Covid-19 the dates for the Rotary raffle draw have changed to October 19th but we would appreciate all money and sold/unsold tickets to be returned to the club by September 1 for collation. As competition tennis is resuming the Club Champs both Senior and Junior will be contested later in the year. Night competition is expected to recommence in late July after being cancelled back in March. Entries are still open for the coming spring season but will close at the end of June. Mayfield Park’s regular teams are all lining up to get back on the court again this season but more players are always welcome as emergencies or to build a new team. Please get in contact with our Night Convenor - Chris Carboon (0423 784 595) - if you have an interest in getting involved.

09.01.2022 Following yesterday’s announcement from Daniel Andrews, stage three restrictions will be reintroduced from 11:59pm, Wednesday 8th July, and continue for six weeks to 11:59pm Wednesday, 19 August to help reduce the risk of further transmissions. Under the restrictions imposed by State Government and in accordance with the interim guidance provided by Tennis Victoria, some on-court activities may still be conducted, however, the clubhouse is to be temporarily closed to members ...and external users by 11:59pm Wed 8th of July and by the end of the week (no access to them as of this Friday, 10th July) to club committee members/ personal, and only be subsequently accessed if you do not have externally accessible toilets. This means pavilions cannot be used for meetings, gatherings, or any other use during this closure. State Government restrictions state: Outdoor sport facilities will be closed, except for facilities where people can exercise with no more than one other person or members of your household while maintaining 1.5 metres distance; Equipment should not be shared, and communal facilities cannot open; Community sport training and competition cannot occur within the Melbourne metropolitan area or the Shire of Mitchell. If you live in this area you cannot participate in community sport elsewhere. Tennis Victoria Guidance: All indoor facilities must close this includes all indoor courts, club houses/rooms; Outdoor courts may remain open for the following: o Casual play (public court hire or club members) for members of the same household or for 2 people from different households; o Coaching for members of the same household or one to one coaching; All other programs and activity must cease until further notice; Tennis equipment must not be shared; No one from outside a lockdown area may play at a facility within the lockdown area and vice versa. If clubs chose to remain open to provide the above services it will be its responsibility to manage and ensure members and users abide by the restrictions and social distancing. Please note these restrictions are subject to change in accordance with any further updates or advice provided by State Government and Tennis Victoria. One of these is to keep a log of all court users, so until we find a better method we ask all members to text Brad on 0417327880 or email club [email protected] the names, dates, times and courts used. This is important, so to keep our courts open please abide by these rules. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding this or any other matter and we will continue to assist.
