25.01.2022 TEAM OF THE WEEK! Here is our round 13 team of the week! There's only one game left to go for the season that almost never was. Our O35/B grade team finished up on Friday night with a win, making them the undefeated minor premiers! U16/A and AAW/A also remain unbeaten so far, and now head into their final game looking to also finish the year as undefeated minor premiers. Well done to all players selected from round 13!

22.01.2022 SATURDAY RESULTS! What a day! All 5 games at Mayfield Park and the tigers really turned it on. U16/A recorded a 1-1 draw to keep them in the topspot and still unbeaten so far! AA/B had a win, while AA/A unfortunately went down in a hard fought battle. Our ZPL sides took on the Suns, with a 2-2 draw for reserve grade. The real excitement of the day came from our first grade match, who went frpm 0-3 down in the second half to come back in a nail biting thriller with a 4-3 win! Well done to all teams yesterday, what an incredible day at Mayfield Park! Today our women are all at home as well, rounding off a big weekend at Mayfield Park. Good luck today ladies!

20.01.2022 SUNDAY RESULTS! Our ladies wrap up round 12 after a full day of games at Mayfield Park. C grade and A grade came away with a win, ensuring A grade stay at the top of the ladder looking to also end the year unbeaten and with a minor premiership in hand! Tough losses to B and D grade, going down 0-1 in their games but they'll bounce back next week and look to finish their season on a high. Well done to all teams this weekend!

18.01.2022 Congratulations to the 12 players who have made it into our 2020 spectators choice team of the year! Every week we ask a spectator from each game to select a player for our team of the week based on who they thought had the best game. At the end of the 14 rounds, we compile our team of the year winners based on what player was most influential each week. It's great getting a different perspective from the sideline in comparison to the team choosing their players players. This year was our second year of this award, and while it was a little harder to get spectators each week due to covid, it was still a great success. We can't wait to see it back in the 2021 season! Congratulations once again to the winners of our team of the year.

He brings to the role his green blood and many years of playing a high level of football in Newcastle, as well as an attitude of living and breathing the game he loves. 17.01.2022 WEEKEND RESULTS! Only two games played yesterday, with both our AA/B and U16/A teams coming away with a draw in their games. This keeps our U16's on track for an unbeaten season with one game remaining and another minor premiership on the cards! Today our ladies had a tough day with their games, with our C and D grade ladies going down with disappointing losses and a draw for B grade. Our A grade ladies are also right on track for an unbeaten season with a minor premiership on the table, with a 6-1 win in their game.

It was the very last signing for us and we are so glad she joined our team. She has amazing ball skills and control which usually made the opposition look disoriented while trying to defend against her. A completely selfless midfielder who assisted plenty more goals than she scored. Maddy is a great team player who worked tirelessly in both attack and defence. Congratulations on winning our leading goalscorer of the year for 2020 Maddy, it's been a pleasure with you!".

O35/B, U16/A and AAW/A all continue to remain unbeaten for the season, and our ZPL 1st grade side had a thrilling 2nd half come back to get the win over the Suns. Mayfield United FC is pleased to announce the appointment once again to our Zone Premier League 3rd grade coaches, Gavin McInally as head coach and assistant Mark Walsh. With this duo combination having a sabatical during our 2020 3rd grade covid hiatus...it is time for these guys to pick everything up where they left off in 2019.... Mayfield United FC is excited to regroup this 3rd grade team back into the ZPL fold and populate ZPL to 3 grade numbers of exciting players. 13.01.2022 RESULTS SO FAR! Tough weekend so far for Mayfield United, with a loss, a draw and a win for our Friday night teams. Our O35/B side continue their winning streak with another win, keeping them firmly at the tip of the table! Saturday was tough down at Mayfield Park, with a loss for all teams. 13.01.2022 ROUND 12 MATCH REPORTS AAF/E 4-1 win vs Cardiff South O35/C 2 nil loss vs Cooks Hill. The first half was an even affair. Both teams were desperate for the win. We went to the break 0 - 0 however on the bench we were up 2 busted hammies to 1 and running out of ice. The second half was entertaining with plenty of chances. Matty in goals was saving plenty! Our A grade ladies are also on an unbeaten streak and continued that today with their 1-0 win, edging closer to another minor premiership! Our O35/B grade side also wrapped up the minor premiership with three games still to be played! The end of the season is coming up quickly, but there's still a few chances for players to find themselves selected for team of the week in that time. 10.01.2022 FRIDAY RESULTS! Our Friday night teams had mixed results last night, with AAF/H going down 0-2 in their game at Mayfield Park and O35/C came away with the draw. Our O35/B side got the win, making them the undefeated minor premiers of 2020! They have the bye next round, so wrapped up their season last night. Well done to everyone involved in O35/B, what a great year you've had! Today our ZPL teams have the bye, while our U16's and all age sides take the field at Mayfield Park. U16's have the chance to also wrap up a minor premiership today, so we'll be anxiously waiting for results! Good luck to all teams playing today!

07.01.2022 FRIDAY RESULTS! Oh what a night! A win for each of our Friday night teams, getting round 11 off to a brilliant start for the rest of the club. Our 035/B grade team also sealed the minor premiership with a 6-1 win! Unbeaten all year so far, they have continued to impress each week and thoroughly deserve this title! Congratulations team! Today our Saturday teams will be looking to emulate some of this winning spirit across all 5 sides. Good luck to everyone playing today!

06.01.2022 YOUR MAYFIELD UNITED FC MEN'S LEADING GOALSCORER FOR 2020! David Franze can only be described as "Davo-on-the-spot". His antelope-like movement across the park and ability to read the game often puts him in the right position. I have heard whispers that 90% of his goals came from the penalty spot, but this is probably more a reflection of our boys speed and agility in the front third than anything else. David strikes a ball well but is not afraid to use his toe either if that gets the job done. He is indeed an outcome focused team player. It's a pleasure to play with such a great guy who can elevate those around him. Nice work Mr Franze.

Only 4 rounds to go in the 2020 season, and it will be a battle to the end for some of our teams to try and reclaim the top spot. Our O35/B, U16/A and AAW/A sides all continue their unbeaten streak, sitting firmly in first place! Well done, let's continue the good work for the run home.

04.01.2022 SATURDAY RESULTS! Our Saturday men's teams continued the success from Friday night and all recorded wins or draws for round 11, making Mayfield United FC unbeaten this weekend so far! U16's continue their winning streak, inching ever closer to securing the minor premiership for themselves, while our AA/A and ZPL 1st grade side recorded wins in their games as well. Today our ladies take on their opponents in away games, and will be looking to also remain undefeated this weekend! Good luck to all teams playing today!

02.01.2022 FRIDAY RESULTS! Round 12 kicked off last night with our Friday night teams. An unfortunate loss for O35/C, going down 0-2 in their game, while AAF/H and O35/B both recorded wins in their games. O35/B are still unbeaten this season, and will look to continuing this run for their last two games! Big day at Mayfield Park today, with all 5 of our Saturday teams playing at home!
