17.01.2022 Our days working at a Vet Hospital isn’t all cute puppies and kittens.. but when it is, it’s awesome! These two cute toy poodles came into our Georgetown clinic for a consult today



16.01.2022 We’ve got a very interesting & unusual case in today! This beautiful boy came in with twitching, unsteadiness followed by slight incontinence Dr Callan Cribb who was managing this case, decided to perform a drug test on him based on his symptoms, and look what we found! ... Much to our surprise, he tested positive for cannabis! His owners reported that he had been playing in Braye Park which they suspected is where he ingested the cannabis. To treat cannabis overdoses we provide supportive therapy such as intravenous fluids and treat the symptoms as they appear, with appropriate medications. He should be feeling better in no time!

16.01.2022 Surgical Images Below Rocco came in for an orthopaedic surgery to repair his cruciate ligament called Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) where the front of the Tibia gets extended with a metal cage. 15.01.2022 Bosco the cat came in with a sore mouth after getting into a scuffle with a dog. He had dental X-rays which revealed he had a broken jaw! Dr Peter Bartlett who was managing the case realigned the jaw with some wire. ... Bosco is feeling much better and the wire will be removed in a month!

02.01.2022 Heat Stroke in Pets The Australian summer has already started in full force, and along with long summer days, mixed with humidity & high temperatures, comes increased risks for your furry friend ... The most common emergency we see in summer is heat stroke which can be fatal if not treated when the symptoms arise. Pets can get heat stroke after being in an unventilated area (hot car or room), having inadequate shade, not enough liquid intake or excessive exercise. Some symptoms to look out for are: * Excessive panting * Excessive drooling or salivating * Very red or pale gums * Increased heart rate * Breathing distress * Vomiting & diarrhoea * Confusion * Lethargy * Collapsing If your pet is showing any of these symptoms or you are concerned they may have heat stroke, get them to your vet immediately Some pets who are at increases risk for heat stroke are obese, brachycephalic, have cardiovascular issues or are young or old animals, or pets with thick and long coats. There are also risks when walking your pets like burnt paw pads which can be avoided by walking your dog early morning before the heat of the day and testing the ground with your hand to make sure it’s not too hot for your fury family member!
