24.01.2022 Picking up Peggy Cummings today, she is coming here after two very successful clinics in NSW and NZ. She will be giving a demonstration Friday 6.10pm on Principles of Connected Riding, followed by a FIVE day clinic, spectators are welcome $50/day.

There is an opportunity for one rider to take the place of a participant who has pulled out of Peggy Cummings Connected Riding clinic in Jan 17 - 20. Due to the unusual circumstances this place is offered at the Early Bird Rate ($1050), until 15/10/13. Prefer someone who is familiar with Connected Riding concepts . 19.01.2022 Sandy Nye, Australia's own qualified Straightness Training Instructor will be holding a two day "Introductory" workshop here Sat July 2nd to Sun July 3rd, 2016. 9.00 am - 4.00 pm (or later we have lights!!) Day 1 starts with theory, then each participant will work individually on Groundwork with their horse for 45-60 minutes. Day 2 will be a similar format, but some ridden work may be able to be included if appropriate. Come along to find out what "Straightness Training" is all about :-) Contact me if you would like more information.

19.01.2022 We had our first CR-TTEAM Practice Day of the year today. After everyone catching up, I shared the concept of the Physical Body and the Energetic body. We attempted to walk with just one then just the other, then combine the two. The horses were watching us bemusedly over the fence, I dont think Zen could quite believe his eyes :-) I find when I use that idea, with the energetic part leading by a split second, it slows me down, I send clearer signals, and Im more in tune... with the horse/human Im working with. We then practiced our observation skills on Helen, who was a little touchy on her back, and not using her near hind as well as the off side, off hip lower. She was NOT impressed by back lifts, so we changed to belly lifts with a folded towel and her eyes closed, her neck lengthened, and her back softened. When I then tried a back lift, it went up easily, but she lifted her foot to remind me not to take liberties. We then did shoulder delineation, armpit slides, and wither lifts. As she walked around her hind feet were much more even and her back was more lifted and softer looking. Smudge and Sirocco were next, and we split into two groups. After lunch Simone and Quita had short rides, while I played with Zen a little at liberty, talking a little about what I had learned from Farah DeJohnette. Shauleen and Elinor gave insightful critiques. I then had a lovely, but short ride on Pan, attempting to halt with the motion as we had learned at the last Trisha Wren clinic, and getting some nice square halts. We finished with practicing putting wraps on Helen. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day.

19.01.2022 Steve Halfpenny, founder of Silversands and Light Hands Equitation will be holding a 2 day Horsemanship Skills Clinic at Mayflower Ridge, Rokeby on Feb 3-4, 2018 The proposed theme is to improve your relationship with your horse so they want to be with you, and developing your skills with the goal of Working Equitation, Garrocha or the basics required to work cattle (but there won t be any cows -sorry!) TTouch workshop - Nov 29th to Dec 3rd, Croydon North... Hi all, This is very quick as Im off to the airport in only a few hours. Robyn Hood is back in Australia teaching her amazing knowledge and skills of the Tellington TTouch technique. Having been a senior teacher of this work for well over 30 years she has been integral in the ongoing development of new skills and concepts. Just recently they expanded to using the Bee-line (which we have used with dogs for several years) to working with horses, which they previously would have thought wouldnt have much of an effect, but has. That is the great thing about this technique, keep things simple, subtle, yet create a new experience for the body and mind to potentially change. The weather will be so much nicer near the end of the year and we have organised a new location in Croydon North to run the workshop. An added bonus is they actually have air conditioning, just in case the temperature gets too hot. They also have and grassed and fenced outdoor area that will hopefully be tidied up after the spring growth. 15.01.2022 There are only a couple of days left to book your place for the Peggy Cummings Connected Riding Clinic at the Early bird rate. For Riders (who have had some experience with Connected Riding already) a $200 deposit paid by August 1st, gives you a whopping $150 off the 4 day clinic cost of $1200. (Ie $1050) 3 places left. For Auditors (Spectators) - if you pay for the four days in full by August 1st it is only $65 for the four days. After that its $40/day. 3 places left.

11.01.2022 Last night FINALLY put up the blog I wrote after a lesson with Noora Enqvist, its been making a huge impact on how the horses are working with me. Included is the Fern exercise which Ive taught at the last two Practice Days. AND Ive also posted the booking forms for the TTEAM CLINIC (need two more bookings for clinic to go ahead) and the Connected Riding Clinic next February with Peggy Cummings (need six bookings for that one). 10.01.2022 I have written about some of the highlights at the recent Farah DeJohnette clinic at Strath creek on my website www.mayflowerridge.com . Its been a while and I didnt have time to reduce photos, but may add some later. Theres even a mini Feldenkrais style lesson to try on a barrel.

10.01.2022 Lots happening here over the next few months. Weve had shared lessons with Campbell Jenkin, and two parts of his 3 part series of clinic days, each six weeks apart. The next series will be only 3-4 weeks apart, starts in June. Carlos Tabernaberri has had a few lesson days here and more are planned, plus another weekend clinic in early June. The TADARC has had a couple of Working Equitation days to practice for competitions (our next comp is on Mothers Day at Moe). Sandy ...Nye, a Straightness Training Instructor, may be holding some clinics here, with An Introduction to Straightness Training at a very reasonable, introductory price. Finally Im not sure if the Connected Riding with Peggy Cummings planned for Dec will go ahead as there hasnt been enough deposits paid (by 15/4/2016 if you are interested) yet for it to be viable. And I havent heard how Karen is going with TTouch for Horses with Robyn Hood in November. Remember both of these World renown, incredible Instructors need to be booked nearly a year in advance as they are in great demand worldwide, and the organisers need early expressions of interest and deposits paid so the bookings can proceed. (6 places still available) From 1/6/14 its $90/4days, from 1/9/14 it will be $120/4days and from 1/12/14 its $50/day or $150/4 days.
