20.01.2022 We will be having our first ever, live online worship gathering this Sunday @10am. After nearly 6 weeks of social distancing, we felt it was the right time to begin hosting live-gatherings together. We will be meeting together over Zoom; we simply feel the option to see each other will add to the sense of connectedness. Here are some things for you to know:... - All the online resources that has been provided will continue to be available as per usual (i.e. worship playlist, Maylands Kidz Sunday School Kit, etc.) - If you are not able to join live or miss part of the service, there will be a video recording of the service and audio version of the sermon available. You will be able to find these on our Online Church resource page off our website. Our team will do their best to make these available, shortly after the live service. - A Zoom invitation link will be available on this Facebook page by Saturday or on our website We are looking forward to gathering together in this way and we hope you can join us this Sunday @10am!

20.01.2022 Dear Church, I want to begin by thanking all those who have emailed, texted, or called our leadership team to encourage and support us through this unchartered season of life. It means a lot; more than you might realise. A couple of days ago, we sent out a message informing our church community regarding our decision to suspend our Sunday gatherings effective immediately. This obviously disrupts the norm, but we rejoice in the fact that the pursuit and worship of God is not l...imited to a place and/or building. FOR THE TIME BEING... Our strategic approach in lieu of gathering together is to empower you to take initiative in creating your own worship experience at home. You have an opportunity to discover and explore what this could be for you and your family. We aim to provide some simple suggested resources to help you along with this. Starting this Sunday, we will providing the following: - "Curriculum" material for parents to engage with their children (ages 1-5) - "Curriculum" material parents to engage with their children (primary age) - A Spotify playlist of worship music - A sermon in video and audio format These resources will be different each week and will be accessible early Sunday morning via our church website, email, and Facebook Page. UNIFIED IN SPIRIT To create a sense of "unity in spirit", i'm suggesting we all try to do our "home church" in the usual time of 10am on Sunday mornings. I know this may not be feasible for all, or every time, but it's just something to aim for. I've heard about how other churches have organised "watch parties" where they use online conference platforms like Zoom to watch the online sermon together and then discuss afterwards. Just an idea I recently heard about. SOME CONSIDERATIONS I'd like to suggest a few things to consider as we explore this approach of "church": - Make room for the Spirit of God to lead - Be an engager, not a consumer - "Worship in spirit & truth" - don't be religious about it - Please, please, please have fun with this and make it enjoyable Blessings, Ronnie The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. - Numbers 6:24-26

18.01.2022 A couple of years ago, we began a prayer ministry where on several Sundays of the year, we went out into our local community and prayed for people. We did this by asking people if they wanted prayer, by praying for local businesses/homes, and by opening the church building for anyone to walk in simply to receive prayer. We also, created a page on our website to allow anyone to submit a prayer request at any time, from any place and with anonymity if they wanted. We are in un...usual times right now, where roaming the streets in groups and approaching people to offer prayers would not be demonstrating love for our wider community. However, we still want to love our community by praying for them. For this reason, we just wanted to highlight this part of our website that has already been up on running for years already. If you are in need or would like prayers, simply click on this link https://maylands.church/because-we-care/, submit your request, and we promise to honour your courage in doing this, by praying to God for you and for your situation. 07.01.2022 This Sunday, weather permitting, we are encouraging the church to meet together at Bardon Park in Maylands for a Communion Picnic Fellowship. We'll take communion together and enjoy a time of fellowship in a way we haven't been able to in weeks. If you're concerned about how communion will be distributed, we will be using pre-packaged communion elements so please rest assure that it will be hygienically safe. All you need to bring is your own food and drink and whatever else... you need to picnic at the park. We will aim to meet in any available area near the large playground Date: Sunday, 5th July Time: 10am Place: Bardon Park, Maylands. IF IT RAINS... If it is raining on Sunday, the plan will be to resume our Zoom gatherings and we will take communion together on Zoom. The aim for this weekend is to all meet together without having the constraints of being inside the church building under current restrictions. However, due to the anticipated inclement weather this Sunday, we will gather together in the church building. So please bring an indoor "picnic" for this Sunday as we fellowship, take communion and celebrate Father's Day together.
