There are so many benefits of having a laugh including relieve our stress response and tension, it improves your mood and immune system so we definitely all need a daily good laugh.... There are so many funny videos but get in on the fun yourself by dressing up to take your bin out, wearing your fancy jewellery every day (Bec has been doing this one), playing online games with family/friends. A good one is Read My Lips where a person is muted and everyone has to guess what they are saying - tip pick a topic first as this will make it easier. Comment to share your fun and joy moments, photos or videos are appreciated Remember to comment below or on our weekly challenge post to go in the draw to win our basket of goodies and share or tag for bonus entries. ps check out our balloons in clinic today

24.01.2022 Did you know that dehydration increases in winter? This is because we are less thirsty in the cold weather - it decreases by up to 40%! There are other factors such as:... we tend to drink more hot drinks to keep warm like black tea and coffee which are diuretics (lose more water) not sweating as much which is a signal to drink more being in heating which dries you out eating less salad foods which are high in water Tips to stay hydrated: 1. Use a water bottle to track how much water you have everyday - aim for 1.5L to 2L 2. Swap black tea and coffee for herbal teas as these count for water intake 3. If you struggle to drink water add fruit or herbs to your water for flavour 4. Eat soup regularly as this is high in water 5. If exercising make your own sports drink using 1/4 100% fruit juice, pinch of sea salt and water. This way you avoid the added colours etc in sports drinks. Let us know your best tip for staying hydrated in winter!

23.01.2022 Important update - Due to the recent outbreak the clinic is temporarily closed for appointments for a few days. We will still be available by phone and email for any queries and Genevieve Knutson is available for phone and online video appointments. For those with appointments this week we will be in touch shortly (if you haven’t already heard from us). As an extra precaution we will not send out product orders from the clinic until we have completed an additional deep cle...an and have reopened. We can arrange for orders to be sent from our suppliers so if you have an urgent order please let us know. Important: we are NOT a potential exposure site and we are confident in our good hygiene standards but we are taking this precaution to ensure your safety as well as following the government recommendations that anyone who works in the Maylands Shopping Precinct is tested and self isolates until they receive a negative result. All staff are undergoing testing and we expect to reopen in a few days. As you may know some of the potential exposure locations are in Maylands, the locations are Coles Maylands, KFC Maylands, Pharmacy 777 Maylands and Venus Hair Design Maylands. We have checked the dates and times of the potential exposures and the majority are outside of our opening hours except for Venus Hair Design which was on Friday between 1pm to 3pm. We haven’t been contacted about any potential risk and will keep you updated. We appreciate that you have helped us maintain good hygiene by washing or sanitising your hands on arrival. We have maintained a daily deep clean of the clinic and we are confident in the measures we have taken. We have prepared for this possibility and know that in the current times we need to be able to adapt quickly. We will keep you updated and let you know when we reopen so we can continue to do what we do best be your partner in health, wellness and self-care. Thank you for your support and understanding and if you have any queries please get in touch. Take care of yourself and those around you. Remember kindness and calm are contagious so spread lots of that sort of goodness around. All at Maylands Wellness
