22.01.2022 Congratulations to Jordan Edmeades for the premier of his documentary ‘BlazeAid: Spreading Like Wildfire’ A brilliant tribute to the men and women who volunteered with BlazeAid all around Australia after last summer’s fires. The premier of the film was screened at Light Church Edithburgh, where the organisation was based after the Yorketown fire of 2019. ... Most worthy of a broadcast on national TV. You can rent the documentary at https://www.reelhouse.org/blazeaiddocumentary/watch SA Recovery ABC North and West BlazeAid

14.01.2022 Hoping everyone is going OK. Thankful we now (at 9:30pm) have a reduced threat on Southern Yorke Peninsula but please keep vigilant and tuned into the latest CFS alerts. At the time of this post It looks like there is still fires active around the Maitland area. Hopefully they too will be contained soon. ... Stay safe and have fire plans at the ready just in case. For updates visit the CFS website (https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/) or phone the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361.

07.01.2022 Pause, Remember, Reflect. 11am, November 11
07.01.2022 Today is the first day of our lockdown and I'm sure many are in our community will find the days ahead challenging. It’s worth noting that tomorrow, Nov 20, will be the 12 month anniversary of the 2019 Yorketown fire. The following days and months after that event saw our community come together in amazing ways with an outpouring of generosity and mutual support.... I'm confident that our community will draw from the same spirit that has been so evident over the last year, as we face our current challenge. (This video is an excerpt from a documentary on the BlazeAid effort over that period.) https://youtu.be/T69-t-W2glEas

04.01.2022 An anxious night for many in our community with an estimated 100,000 lightening strikes across SA causing multiple fires on the Yorke Peninsula. Thankfully all look like they are now out (apart from one, which is considered safe) Great thanks to all those who responded.
