24.01.2022 COOKING IN RITE JOURNEY: The Year 9s are having cooking lessons in their Rite Journey classes this week. French toast and bacon is on the menu. The purpose is to teach the boys life skills, promote wellbeing and hopefully give the boys an idea for Fathers Day breakfast on Sunday. They loved the cooking, so hopefully this inspires them to help out in the kitchen at home!
24.01.2022 GREAT MENTOR: What better way to develop your hockey skills than under the tutelage of an Australian Hockey player. It is so amazing to have an Australian national team member, Corey Weyer back coaching our Year 7/8 teams. Hoping for big things from these boys in the future. #WeAreMazenod #welovehockey Hockey WA

22.01.2022 HACKY SACK IS BACK! The Year 9s are doing their best to bring back an old classic. Mr Mallon reminisced about spending his school recess and lunchtimes playing hacky sack and he was delighted to see it regaining popularity in the schoolyard. How many parents can remember playing hacky sack at school? #schooldays
22.01.2022 SURPRISE MAIL: When Spencer wrote to Prime Minister Scott Morrison (ScoMo) urging him to encourage more students to ride their bicycles to school, he didn't expect to hear any more about it. To his great surprise, he received a personal response from the Prime Minister about a week later. Spencer was so surprised and grateful that the Prime Minister had taken the time to respond. It demonstrated to him that in Australia everyone has a voice and you can be heard, even at th...e top. Thanks Scott Morrison (ScoMo) for making one young man feel very valued and very happy. -- #wearemazenod

08.01.2022 RITE JOURNEY: This week, the Year 9 students attended their Rite Journey Abyss Camp. The generosity of spirit, mateship, support and willingness to share story and emotions was amazing to see. The young men reaffirmed the commitment they made at the start of the year, to begin the journey towards healthy adulthood, one in which they will be good men, who contribute positively to their community. We hope to see them maintain this commitment and look forward to seeing them become the best Mazenod Men they can be as they continue their journey through young adulthood.
07.01.2022 SURF ONLINE SAFE: Students will be having a talk from Paul Litherland from Surf Online Safe today. 06.01.2022 Today, the Year 9 students will attend their Rite Journey Abyss Camp. At the start of the year, the boys experienced their ‘Calling and Departure’ ceremony in which they made a commitment to developing resilience, maturity, and compassion, as well as identifying the child-like behaviours that they wish to leave behind. Throughout the year in our Rite Journey sessions, staff have assisted them with this commitment by discussing many of the significant issues facing young men.... This camp allows them to reflect upon that commitment, and the progress they have made on their journey to becoming decent, contributing young males in society. It is not a traditional camp but will instead contain periods of solitude, reflection, discussion and silence. We hope that this will allow the young men to reflect on their successes and failures, and set goals for the years to come. #wearemazenod
