25.01.2022 Great night at Taren point Bowls Club last night for the inaugural "Charity Shield" Taren Point V NSW Master Builders. A big thank you to Taren Point Bowls & Relationship Manager Mr Chris Green for a fantastically well organised & run event. Congratulations must also go to the TP team for their win in what was a very good, competitive and enjoyable game of bowls. A big thank you to the TP & MBA supporters, TP members & bowlers for their kind donations. We were once again well supported and were able to raise another $900 on the night for the NSW MBA Bowls charity, the Westmead Children's Hospital. This now takes our total donations to well over $130k. Thank you to all for your support.

24.01.2022 Attention all Members We are seeking expressions of interest form all members attending the 2021 Tweed Heads National Championships who would like to be selected in the NSW MBA top team for James Wall Cup. A selection trial is the be held at Taren Point BC on Sunday 18th April commencing at 10 am. This trial will be 2 teams of 12 players, 3 rinks per team played in the pennants format. 24.01.2022 Wow what a great day today for the NSW Master Builders Bowls club annual Charity Day to help raise funds for the Westmead Childrens Hospital We managed to raise in excess of $15,000 for the Hospital and it could not have been done without the help and generosity of all that were in attendance and also the great venue A big thank you to Taren Point Bowling Club with special mention going to Chris Green absolutely fabulous effort and very much appreciated . Today’s effort ta...kes the total money raised over the past 15 years to $115,000 Thank you to our 97 year old life member Doug Bennetts without you Doug this would not have happened, great job mate. 23.01.2022 The 2020 NSW Master Builders Singles Championships held at Taren Point Bowling Club. The event was held in trying weather conditions however all members put up with a little bit of rain and played throughout the day until the final between Dermot Minihan & Neil "BOOF" Hocking. This was a great game of bowls with Boof running out the winner in a tie breaker end to claim the championship for 2020. Congratulations to all on a great day.

18.01.2022 The 2020 NSW Six Way Challenge played at Soldiers Point Bowling Club The NSW MBA managed to finish 2nd in our first time in this event and should be very proud of this result. Congratulations must go to the NSW Police Force on taking out the championship, they played exceptional bowls over the whole tournament and are deserved winners. Thank you to Terry Antram & the team from Soldiers Point for their fantastic organisation & hospitality. We look forward to competing again in this great tournament and hopefully go one better next year.

09.01.2022 Dear Members It is with great sadness that I advise you all that our great mate, life member & Father of NSW Master Builders, Mr Doug Bennetts has unfortunately passed away at the age of 98 on Friday 19th July 2019. Doug’s family are deeply saddened by his passing as we all are and I have passed on to his daughter Liz our deepest sympathy's from all of his friends here at the Master Builders Bowls club. The funeral will be held Friday 26th of July at 11.30am at the Epping Pr...esbyterian Church, 9 Bridge St Epping. It would be great to see as many of our members attend as possible to give Uncle Doug the send-off that he would have wished for and form a NSW MBA Bowls club guard of honour. A Poem for Dougie. Are there Bowling Greens in Heaven my Lord? For lawn bowls I mean for me? Will there be lush grass, warm breezes and endless cups of tea? When you decide to call me my Lord In Your special way, Could there be a team one player short Who might ask me to play? Do you have a club house in heaven my Lord? Where we could sit and talk? Can you give me endless energy So that I am never short? Could I meet my family and friends, my Lord? All those who have gone before? We will need lots of seats for supporters? And markers who will score? Would you volunteer to be skip, my Lord? To ensure that there is fair play? For if you draw the cards, and measure, I hope to play for you someday. RIP Doug Bennetts

07.01.2022 2019 NSW Master Builders Triples Tournament A great day was had by all contestants with over 90 bowlers participating at Taren Point bowling Club. All proceeds on the day going to the Westmead Children's Hospital. Winners for the event were Rick Woodleigh, Garry Ball, & Chris Green. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to Chris Green and the TP team for all of their help.

07.01.2022 A very proud moment for the NSW Master Builders Bowls Club & our members as we were recognised for our fund raising efforts at an awards night at the Westmead Children's Hospital last week. The NSW MBA members have been successful in raising over $117K over the past years & Andrew Orrell & Mark Willey were presented with a Platinum Award in recognition of this wonderful achievement . Congratulations to all of our NSW MBA BC members and all those lawn bowlers who have participated in these charity days from all over NSW, a big thank you to you all. THANK YOU!.

This brings the total amount raised by the MBA Bowls Club for the Children’s Hospital to $100,000 over the past 17 years. Well done Dougie, this wouldn’t have happened without you mate.

03.01.2022 2019 NSW Master Builders Doug Bennetts Trophy A great day at Taren Point Bowling Club today by all members of the NSW MBA Bowls Club in attendance for the Singles Championships. Some great bowls played with some very close results. The final was played between Rick Woodleigh and Rick Clarke and after a drawn first set Rick Woodleigh ran out the eventual winner taking out the second set. Well done to all members who participated and congratulations to our 2019 Club Champion, ...Rick Woodleigh . On a special note we were also able to raise $1000 for the Westmead Childrens Hospital. 02.01.2022 Today we presented $15,000 to the Westmead Childrens Hospital which was raised at this years Master Builders Bowls Club Charity Day . Mr Doug Bennetts our club life member presented the cheque to the Hospital which was accepted by little Roman who is only 2 years of age receiving his treatment chemo treatment today. A great morning was had by all in attendance with all the Westmead staff showing their appreciation for the club and Dougies efforts with a morning tea. To als...o help celebrate Doug’s 98th Birthday AMAZING on this wonderful day, Lynette Said from Cut The Cake made a cake replica of the OAM that Doug received for his service to the community. Well done to all those members, volunteers and helpers at the NSW MBA Bowls Club for making this possible and in taking our Clubs total donations to WCH to $115K .....absolutely fabulous !! See more
