19.01.2022 I was treated to a very intimate stand up comedy show at 7Fridays Westlake Hostel the Tuesday before last. It was intimate in that I was one of only two people in the audience. Nevertheless there were some good chuckles had by all and some excellent fodder gathered for the article below. Written for the Hanoi Times, this article covers the rising popularity of stand up comedy in the capital. Enjoy!

17.01.2022 Me again... TL;DR Before the economic reforms initiated back in the eighties, Bia Hoi was about the only place you could go in Hanoi to buy beer. The beverage market has come along way since then and the changing tastes of local Hanoians is leading to a diversification of what beer people buy and where they choose to drink it. Enjoy :) https://tuoitrenews.vn//rising-income-changing-/55086.html

13.01.2022 My latest piece. Simon's from Australia, Ngan's Vietnamese. They got together in Hanoi but during a short trip home for Simon COVID-19 travel restrictions came into force separating them for the foreseeable future. How are people in relationships dealing with long distance, potentially long term separation?

10.01.2022 My latest piece all the way from Vietnam in which I endeavour to answer the question: Is learning Vietnamese really time well spent?" Enjoy :) #stayhomesavelives

06.01.2022 This is my first piece for the Hanoitimes. TL;DR Aside from the Old Quarter, where the tourists before COVID-19 would normally congregate, Hanoi is just about back to normal. Bars and restaurants are open without restrictions and COVID-19 precautions have, more or less, become a thing of the past. Enjoy :) http://hanoitimes.vn/hanois-new-normal-how-much-has-changed

01.01.2022 Hanoi schools have reopened after being closed since February to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This has created both supply and demand issues and the market for English teachers is struggling to settle in this post COVID-19 world. Where it will end up is unclear, but this may signal a fundamental shift in how the market functions.
