22.01.2022 We want to give a HUGE thank you to Casey and Yas for putting in many hours painting our amazing new logo that was designed by our own Gaz Williams. Well done guys you have done an amazing job!

21.01.2022 How cool is this? At our AGM on Sunday we were able to reconnect some of our Life Members with the premiership cups from our inaugural 1st & 2nd Grade wins in the Southern Suburban Cricket Association (now Southern Cricket Association). The premiership cups were perpetual back in the day so the premier clubs didn’t get to keep the cups like they do today! We tracked them down after talking to the last Secretary of the SSCA, Tony Pearce. A big thanks to Claremont Cricket Clu...b Public Page for letting us lend the trophies as we couldn’t track them down in time for our 75th Anniversary Dinner. A good before and after photo of Club Stalwart Peter Hill, Hilly has the same style today as he did back in the 70s. Apparently that night back in 1974 was one of the best in Club history... a very long one that is! #MBCCHistory #ThrowbackTuesday #70sFashion

20.01.2022 Great job 1st grade posting 203 led by an awesome 55 from Shane Tape. Let’s knock them over now lads. Go Sharks!!

19.01.2022 How good is this?! In just his second game at the club Rahi Tonmoy takes 7/30 in an absolutely dominating display of bowling. Well done Rahi we are proud to have you at the club and look forward to you dominating batting lineups for years to come.

16.01.2022 How’s this for a story? Jason Sallese is an electrician at the Hobart Airport. He found Luke Paul’s Life Member pin stuck under the luggage conveyor belt. Luke lost it 3 years ago whilst flying home to QLD after our 2nd grade premiership win!! Jason contacted us and dropped it in at the club Thursday night!! Absolute legend.

16.01.2022 This weekend will be the first time this season the ladies team takes the field. We’d like to give a HUGE thank you to 321 Build for sponsoring the ladies team this year. We will be wearing their logo with pride as we look to rack up some early wins.

15.01.2022 Congratulations to Geoff Jackson for officiating his 700th game on the weekend. A tremendous fellow who has always umpired in the right spirit of the game.

13.01.2022 Get behind the Sharks!!

13.01.2022 Today we commemorate the men and women who have served our country and fought for our freedom. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning... We will remember them. #ANZACDay2021

13.01.2022 Wishing all of our Shark families the very best for Christmas and looking forward to seeing you all in the new year. Have fun and stay safe. Xo

12.01.2022 Must be a Montagu Bay Shark

11.01.2022 Another flashback moment this time to the 1968/69 season 53 years ago... The Club had just got admission into the then Southern Suburban Cricket Association (Now Southern Cricket Association) after spending its early years in the Clarence Association and social cricket leagues. We weren’t even called ‘Sharks’ then.. The Club instantly had success winning the 2nd Grade/ B Grade Premiership! We took on rivals Risdon Vale and managed to secure a 6 wicket win. Life Members Ray... Wise and Brian Pollard scored 58 and 47 while opening the batting, while ‘young gun’ fast bowler and fellow Life Member, Peter Hill took a casual 6/47. Below is the premiership team featured below: Back row (L to R) Max Laughlin, Peter Hill, Maurie Brazendale, Max Banks, Barry Alderton (squad member), Mike Patterson (squad member), Dave Alderton, Alvin Alderton; Front row (L to R) Rodney Stubbs (12th), Ray Wise, Eddie Mayne (vc), Jack Grant (c), Mervyn Reed, Brian Pollard. It was great to have a a few of the team at the Club’s recent 75th Anniversary dinner. #MBCC75 #TheFamilyClub #historyinthemaking

10.01.2022 How good do our newest sharks look in their new uniforms? The master blaster program has proven a huge hit so far! We still have one more place to fill if you know anyone interested in joining!

10.01.2022 Congratulations to Jason and Rodney Callinan on playing their 400th game against our First grade side today at Rokeby. And amazingly David Henderson will be playing his 500th in the same game!! We won’t say good luck but we will say amazing achievement and clearly all very loyal and resilient club men. Great Job.

09.01.2022 Due to a number of circumstances the 75th Anniversary Celebration and Inaugural Hall of Fame Dinner has been rescheduled to the 17th of April. Please RSVP using the phone numbers below. We would love to have as many Life Members, as well as past and current players along as we can! It will be an awesome night! #MBCC75th

06.01.2022 Lest we forget...

06.01.2022 We’ve gone back to the early days now to something in the modern era, as we do highlights after reaching 75 years! The Club’s last premiership was in 2nd Grade Southern Cricket Association in the 2016/17 season. On the 18th March 2017, Led by Club legend Luke Paul the Sharks took on the Knights at home in what was a hotly anticipated contest! The Sharks bowling attack put on an all round bowling performance, bowling the Knights out for 97 sharing the wickets amongst them...selves. In reply, the Sharks put on a steady chase, however the infamous ‘Montagu Bay collapse’ looked to be on when we were on 4/94 then 6/96.. luckily Adrian McMullen hit the 2 remaining runs needed and the Sharks were premiers! 2016/17 Premiership Team: Back row (L to R) Scott Newlands, Rod Hall, Heath Seily, Jack Bowerman (VC), Jason Bowring, Peter Walker, Mark Darby. Front row (L to R): Steve Russell (12th), Chris Mackey, Lindsay Roberts, Adrian McMullen, Luke Paul (C). Here is hoping for some more silverware for the Sharks in the coming years. For all those wishing to play for a Club next year, we have 4 men’s, 1 women’s and 2 junior teams located at Geilston Bay Oval, we’d love to see you there at Shark Park around the Clubrooms. #MBCC75 #TheFamilyClub #ThrowBackFriday #BecomeAShark
