20.01.2022 Part of the on-site training for AusMAP (a nation-wide citizen science initiative, surveying Australian beaches for microplastic pollution). At the University of Notre Dame for the Australian Microplastic Assessment Project What seemed to be a relatively clean beach didn't quite stack-up Many thanks Dr Michelle Blewitt & Dr Scott Wilson

18.01.2022 Our Co-ordinator Mark Harrison is back again and this time we're talking about the challenges we are facing with dune erosion and the never-ending battle between two relentless aspects of nature.

18.01.2022 The light rain stopped long enough to allow Mullaloo Scouts and Enactus ECU to team up again. We successfully plant 440 seedlings into Dunes 3 & 4, followed by a beach walk to collect rubbish. We finished the morning with a warm homemade tomato soup. Many thanks to everyone, including the seedlings and help by the Joondalup Natural Areas team.... Well done And then the rains came back to finish the day.

10.01.2022 Such a fabulous way to celebrate AUSMAP's 1st birthday with our #PlasticFreeJuly Community in collaboration with #OperationStraw and #ManlyDiveCentre for #DiveA...gainstDebis. There was a great turn out for a mid winters day and we collected over 30kg of macro debris below the water line, most of which was single-use plastic. There was sadly much microplastic also found within the samples we collected, much of which were nurdles (What is a Nurdle? https://www.epa.vic.gov.au///plastic-resin-pellets-nurdles). Thank you to all who came and helped with all the different organisations, your help, enthusiasm and ability to spread the knowledge to help put an end to marine and plastic pollution. All the data has been reported to Macquarie University, Project AWARE and Tangora Blue. If you'd like to get involved or continue the support on campaigning against plastic pollution please follow AUSMAP on social media where our events are posted. @ Manly, New South Wales, Australia

After removing 18 orange bags of weeds another 2 large green bags of general rubbish plus a section of invasive Kikuyu grass, the Mullaloo Sea Scouts then mass planted over 200 Rhagodia and Spinifex longifolius. With the help of the Joondalup Natural Areas team all the seedlings were well watered in -.
