If you're keen to know more about the photo that fascinated Trent, we're happy to share some background info - the year was 1937 and during the winter months at Suttons Beach, Keith Cadwell offered people joy rides in his Cutty Sark VH-UNV amphibious plane for 10/- ($1) a ride! Even though it was very popular along with donkey rides, he was unable to make a profit. Keith sold the Cutty Sark... in late 1937 to Qantas Empire Airways in #Brisbane. 08.01.2022 "'The hidden life of trees' is a wonderful book by a German forestry manager that provides some incredible insights into the complex life of trees, which he argues are part of a vast social and resource sharing network. The book delivers some groundbreaking scientific findings that are sure to inspire you and change the way you fundamentally look at nature. It would have been good if the author had provided a somewhat more granular break down of the ecological processes occurring in the trees though, as this is fascinating in of itself. Nevertheless, this is a great read and it is sure to make your next walk in the bush far more interesting!" - Reviewed by Ray Borrow here: https://rb.gy/tdgpt6 #TheHiddenLifeofTrees

08.01.2022 The problem with many "self-help" books is that they throw a lot of advice at you as to how to be more successful, but fail to clearly instruct on how to actually make the desired change. This however, is a delightful exception. Few books I've read deliver as clear breakdown of leadership, management and life principles as 'Leadership Strategy and Tactics: Field Manual' by decorated ex US Navy SEAL, Jocko Willink. Just as the title implies, this book is written in a simple a...nd logical way, acting as an uncomplicated guide on how to act, and why it works. With a focus on timeless principles over temporary "quick fixes", there is no doubt in my mind this book will be considered a classic. Read this book and kick 2021 into full gear. 02.01.2022 Could this be #NorthLakes? Yes! This estate map for Campbelltown, North Pine, now part of North Lakes, was advertised in 1885.
