08.01.2022 RSL Carnival Raises Over $7,000 The Murray Bridge RSL’s Annual ANZAC Sports Carnival has come to a close for another year. This year the Carnival featured a large number of local sporting groups where the RSL hosted 10 different disciplines of sport, handed out 12 Perpetual Shields named after significant Military events to involve Australian Service personnel and also presented 6 medallions named in honour of its members past and present strongly affiliated with the applicab...le sport. The Carnival is a fund raiser for Murray Bridge RSL Projects which aims to benefit the local community and its veterans. This project has so far has risen over $ 7,000 where it will assist two Murray Bridge Secondary Students on a Study Scholarship to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War One. The other goals of the Carnival is for the Murray Bridge RSL to better engage and help educate the wider community on the ANZAC Legend and why it holds a high priority of its way of thinking. RSL’s Sports Carnival Co-ordinator Joe Di Santo said I am really overwhelmed by the support of the local community and how my fellow community members have embraced the concept of the Carnival. I am really impressed by the commitment, passion, generosity and community spirit shown by all sporting groups towards the RSL and it's cause The Murray Bridge RSL would like to thank all sporting groups; individuals, businesses and all whom volunteered and participated to support the cause.

06.01.2022 Congratulations to the Murray Bridge Darts Club on winning the Ingurual Mateship Perpetual Trophey as donated by our Major Partner RSL Active. The criteria for the trophy are based on the Army Vales of Courage, Leadership, Initiative, Team Work and Respect. The trophy was opened to all sporting invdiduals, sporting clubs and organisations that particpated in the Carnival. The trophy did not necessary have to go to an individual that recieved a Medallion or a team that receive...d a Perpetual Shield. It simply had to be either an inspiring individual performace or team performance on or off the field. In a strong field the Murray Bridge Darts Club was rewarded for their initiative, leadership and courage to promote the ANZAC Grand Prix weekend nationwide which attracted over 100 competitors from all over Australia. They created shirts ( as worn and modeled by Sharon and Darren of the MB Darts Club in the photo) which helped promoted our cause, paid respect to our Military History and also acknowledged what the Carnival represents. The Darts Club also helped promote other Carnival sporting events on their facebook page as well. The Murray Bridge RSL would like to thank and acknowledge all the sporting groups, participants, sponsors, partners, volunteers and the Sub Committe and RSL Committee in making this Event a success. We hope to do this again next year.
