25.01.2022 Today my heart goes out to all the couples especially @thegreeneyedwhiskygirl & @skr1bbl3s who had planned today to be the day they hitch their wagons to one another... even if they had to postpone for a second or third time! And to all my celebuddies and wedding vendors in Melbourne who totally missed popular wedding date Insta opportunities today But mostly to Melbs... if you’re anything like me you still forget to put your mask on every time you exit the car (w...hy I don’t know we’ve just been wearing them for like 2 months already ) or you are slowly getting to know your own 5km backyard. Or you’ve been able to binge watch every TV series that’s been on your ‘list’ for months. I’m counting down the days until we are allowed out beyond our radius where can hang out, dress up and party like it’s 1999

25.01.2022 IT’S ALWAYS BETTER WHEN WE’RE TOGETHER 2021 is coming in hard and fast. We’re almost at the end of the first month and who would’ve thought that the enquires, booking and planning game would be this strong?! Well for one thing, all the 2020 postponements have booked out a lot of vendors, venues, celebrants and dates.... so if you are eyeing off that vendor cos you dig their vibe or just like their face then HIT THEM UP... QUICK! ... Tell them you want them to be in your life cos you can’t live without them and their face (but like don’t be creepy about it ) Book them. Book them now. I still have some dates for 2021 and the diary is opened for 2022 and beyond... I even brought new highlighters just for the occasion! 25.01.2022 TO RITUAL OR NOT TO RITUAL? I performed my first sand ceremony (YAY weddings!) on Saturday! I was extremely nervous and uncertain about if it would succeed, succeed it did! After much research about what was the best wording and where in the ceremony a ritual was best suited, I realised that it really wasn’t that hard to write about- I just took from the main values of Gilbert and Aida. ... FAMILY. CONNECTION. LOVE. These were a constant throughout their ceremony, their vows and will continue through their married life. There was an instant connection when they met that grew so strong they fell deeper and deeper in love. They respect the heck out of each other and they are literally one another’s perfect person I was honoured to marry them and thankful they allowed me to perform the ritual! And while a whole heap of descriptive words came flooding in, the main ones that stand out are; Fun. Light hearted. Easy going. ... I don’t take myself too seriously and I try to make everyone I meet smile or giggle. I don’t like to admit it but I often am the one that cracks the lame jokes. I like to laugh at myself. 08.01.2022 THE REAL SLIM SHADY There’s been a bit of a lull in wedding spam for me atm so following on from ‘The face behind the business’ that my fellow gal @ceremoniesbyally nominated me in, here are a few things about me that made me realise that I have a few weird qualities but please read on... 1. Growing up my favourite movie was Grease. I watched the VHS so much that it broke. Summer lovin’ ... 2. I know every word to ‘Wannabe’ by the Spice Girls 3. Being the middle child, I was always blamed for breaking things 4. I have 2 double jointed crooked pinky fingers- yep TWO- something happened in the womb 5. I love cheese The running family joke is ‘would you *insert food here* with that cheese’. Why yes I would (and also more cheese please) 6. I travelled parts of the USA alone at the end of 2017. Aside from my first hitching, it was the greatest most terrifying time of my whole life! #takemeback 7. I had my gallbladder removed in early 2017 as I had a stone the size of a golf ball 8. I am super clumsy. Like super clumsy 9. I hate olives 10. My boyfriend is a truck driver and one day I hope to drive alongside him in my own truck #truckerwife 11. My sisters call me ‘Manchelle’ because I like to build flat packs and don’t mind getting my hands dirty or doing a bit of heavy lifting 12. I have a Batman and duck tattoo 13. The love they share was felt throughout the whole room, nay dare I say, the whole of Sacksville street!! Their vows were absolutely beautiful and well written. They expressed them perfectly and made everyone in the room cry! It’s a symbol of devotion, of love, of faithfulness to YOUR person. It’s gonna be the thing you look at everyday when you wake up and every night before you fall asleep... (well apart for their tender faces ) ... 04.01.2022 TALK TO ME As that character from Wedding Crashers said ‘I’d find you...’ And in a totally not creepy, I will actually find you... cos like legally I like have to but also so I can tell you how FAB you look ... So before you step out of the car or before you stand up the front ready to go, wait until you’ve seen these crazy brown eyes of mine first cos I have a very important document you gotta sign first. There’s a little bit of paperwork involved when it comes to getting married. Let me break it down real quick for you first; NOIM (Notice of Intended Marriage)- this is filled in before your ceremony and it tells me all the bits about you lobsters to prove who you say you are. DONLIM (Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage)- as showed in the photo. This is the important doc you must sign to tell me that you understand what is about to happen and you’re all good to go Official Certificate of Marriage- sign on the dotted line here and ohhh yeah you’re married (I mean you have to say your legal vows first but technicalities) Marriage Certificate- this pretty certificate is yours to keep! Yay! Frame it, put it on your fridge or file it away to reminisce on your wedding anniversaries if you like! 03.01.2022 FEELING ALL THE FEELS I miss weddings! I miss the preparation, the organisation, the laughing, the (happy) tears, the music, the look the couple give when they reach each other at the other end of the aisle. After yesterday’s announcements, I can confirm that FIVE people plus your celebrant (ME ) can now be at your toit nups! (See Brooklyn 99 if confused ) ... You, your lobster, 2 witnesses & 1 guest children under 12 don’t count The location must be within your 5km radius and must be OUTDOORS. So like a park or public outdoor setting. Unfortunately your backyard or neighbours front yard don’t count (however celebrant can travel with a work permit) During the ceremony, face masks don’t need to be worn by you or me but guests have to wear theirs! Face masks can be removed by all for photos! We must physical distance where we can, hand wash and sanitise and maintain good measures to ensure everyone remains safe and your day is the BEST. 01.01.2022 MY LOBSTER Following on from my ‘Let’s talk lobster’ post that I put up a few weeks ago, I thought it was finally time to introduce to you all my LOBSTER This is he. ... I ask my couples in their questionnaire’s to give me five words to describe their lobster so I thought I’d do the same; hardworking unique tough-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside handsome great cook my person ... ok a little more than five!!! After we matched on bumble (yes, like tinder but like less) he was totally IN LOVE with moi ... although he’d never admit it!
