24.01.2022 As many of my clients already know, I love my sports, both playing and watching but especially playing golf. A basic tenet of any sport, be it team or individual, is the application of some form of measurement a score line. A formal method of determining who won and who lost. Or who’s performance improved and who’s did not. Business is no different measurement isn’t just desirable, it’s vital.... Do you or someone you know need help with monitoring your business scoreline? Read my latest article here: https://mcaccg.com.au/do-you-keep-score/ - to find out how I can help. Or you can email or call me Mark Calleja - at [email protected] or 02 9923 2959.

24.01.2022 The ATO have been seeing a significant increase in relation to ATO scams. With recent scams the caller impersonates ATO officers. The phone call or a recorded message indicates that you have a debt with the ATO, and if you don’t call to arrange payment, the ATO will issue a warrant for your arrest. The scam projects legitimate ATO phone numbers on caller ID, to make you think it’s a legitimate call. While the ATO regularly contacts taxpayers by phone, email and SMS, there ar...e some tell-tale signs that it isn’t the ATO. The ATO will not: - send you an email or SMS asking you to click on a link directing you to a login page - use aggressive or rude behaviour, or threaten you with immediate arrest, jail or deportation - request payment of a debt via iTunes or Google Play cards, pre-paid Visa cards, cryptocurrency or direct credit to a personal bank account - request a fee in order to release a refund owed to you. If you do receive such a call, please do not engage or follow instructions irrespective if the caller places pressure on you. Contact us immediately and we will investigate.

20.01.2022 Tax time | Rental Properties | Depreciation Three words that I am sure conjure up a lot of questions... well hopefully I can help! I stumbled across two articles I contributed to a couple of years ago that focus on rental properties, depreciation and the implications at tax time which are still very much relevant today. ... I have included a snapshot of the articles on my website (link below) if this is something you would like to learn more about or perhaps for a bit of light reading. Alternatively, I can take the load off and look after this for you? Please get in touch if I can be of any assistance in this area. https://mcaccg.com.au/tax-time-rental-properties-depreciati

12.01.2022 My latest article provides an update on the JobKeeper program, announced by the government on the 21 of July 2020. In short, the JobKeeper program will be extended with changes to the rates paid. Businesses will be required to re-apply and satisfy the Turnover tests at two stages. https://mcaccg.com.au/jobkeeper-stimulus-package-amendmen/

04.01.2022 When asked, just over a year ago, what he wanted to achieve on a personal level, my client’s response was rather surprising, considering not only his then current personal situation, but also that of his business. It was still is, really - a young business, employing two staff and delivering a modest return. As things stood at that point, probably without realising it, he was looking at many years of frustration and disappointment stretching out before him.... His dreams were never going to be realised on the back of moderate profits being delivered by the business. Something had to change - trim lofty expectations or get the business working harder and delivering more. Take a look at my latest article to see how I helped him and how I could help you too! https://mcaccg.com.au/do-you-need-a-crystal-ball-or-a-good/
