21.01.2022 Update - The ATO is now receiving arrival and departure records from the Department of Home Affairs for people arriving and leaving Australia from 2016 onwards. Why is this important? Residents of Australia pay a lower tax rate that non residents of Australia. With all this data matching occurring behind the scenes lying is not an option. If you have made a mistake amend before you receive a letter from the ATO as this will reduce penalties.

20.01.2022 Heads up The ATO have advised that their data matching is getting better and this year they will be focusing on sales of Shares, Property and Cryptocurrency. Yes that's right you cannot hide - keep your sell documents together with your annual tax info so you don't forget. If you own an asset you need to ensure that you keep good records. The ATO link below has your record keeping requirements. ... https://www.ato.gov.au//Acquiring-/Record-keeping-for-CGT/ Stay safe and remember we are only an email or phone call away.

11.01.2022 More take home pay starting soon. The Federal Budget tax cuts have passed through parliament and will take effect soon. (Could be as early as this week. We are waiting for the ATO to release updated tax tables). What this means for employees - more money each pay ... What this means for everyone paying tax - We have paid more tax than required for 3 months....this will be returned to us when we lodge our 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021 Tax Returns For most employers your payroll software will adjust this for you. For those employers working wages out manually you will need to download the new tables once the are released. In times like these every bit counts!
